Panko Bread Crumbs
I have noticed in a lot of recipes lately that people use Panko more often than just regular bread crumbs. I thought maybe they were better for you or something, but I don't really notice a difference on a nutrition label. Is there really a true reason behind it?

I use them because they coat better. They are finer than regular bread crumbs. I agree, the nutritional value is marginal and not enough to matter.0

Think about the fried foods you eat when you go out. Coconut shrimp, crispy chicken tenders - all coated in Panko. Love 'em.0

I think it isbecause they're crunchier. Oven fried stuff tastes more "fried". I usually use Progresso italian style bread crumbs. When my son couldnt have milk we used Panko though since Progresso has a tiny amount of milk.0
