Hi all,
So I have decided over the next couple days am going to be cutting out most processed food, and focusing on fruit/veg/yogurt/oatmeal/lean protein,
Any ideas of recipes that taste good?
Also, has anyone had any great success with cutting out processed food? I would love to hear your story

Hi there,
I have cut out almost all processed food for the past 7 weeks and it is quite easy. Check out my profile and diary for recipes and ideas. In short, only shop in the fresh food and lean meats / fish sections of the grocery and you will be fine and be inspired!

Hello Dear,
Im mostly doing this! I have for example melon for breakfast, a cheese pitta and for dinner steamed veggies and roast chicken or chicken with cheese wrapped in bacon! Snacks are nuts and raisins...
Im losing weight
Im not eating lots and lots of carbs! Im feeling fabulous! No more bloating, IBS, Acid reflux!

My favourite is a smoothie in the morning! Use half water and half fruit juice to lubricate the blending, full fruit juice just adds unnecessary sugar. Frozen berries and other fruits, half a banana, and a handful of spinach (you won't taste it) make a super yummy breakfast! I like my smoothies really thick so I don't use that much juice/water.
Also, eating chicken breasts - massage a little olive oil into it, then run on some lemon pepper or whatever seasonings you want. Broil in the oven. Super yummy with a tiny bit of added fat from the oil.
You can also poach chicken and shred it with a fork for easy lean eatings whenever you feel like, just keep the shredded chicken in a baggy in the fridge.0 -
Yes!! I live in the UK now, and processed food is just not 'done' here, like it is in the US. I cook most meals from scratch; meat, veg and potato or rice. Lots of casseroles and soups as well. It's a whole lot easier than you think. Arm yourself with some good cookbooks that have simple recipes, and you'll be surprised how easy and quick it is, and how low the calories are in 'real' food!

You can check my diary for recipes/meal idea. I very rarely eat processed food as it is not as widespread here as in the US.0

I have done this for the past 10 years or so, though it depends on your definition of "processed." The only processed item I regularly eat is Kashi Go Lean Crunch cereal, mainly because it helps me hit my fiber and protein goals on some days and the ingredient list isn't bad anyway. Feel free to look through my diary for ideas, though ignore this past weekend, lol. Too many dinners out! The way I avoid most processed foods is by home cooking just about every meal I eat.0

How is the eating going? I have been toying around with this way of living but have recently taken a big step backwards. Now I am ready to move forward again.0
