What exactly is "doing planks?" I know what plank position is, but then what? Do I just stay in that position for a certain amount of time or is there some movement involved that makes it "doing planks" instead of just being in the plank position?

  • Basically its all about working on the stomach and strengthing. You do it for as long as YOU feel comfortable. I do it and start a ` belly buster ` routine tomorrow where I know that exercise will be in it lol but it works the abs etc

Hold it for 30 sec, then a minute...then lift one leg slightly and hold it. All kinds of fun things. One could also refer to doing planks and mean they're doing front planks and side planks, I suppose.

There are so many ways to work a body with planks....all you will feel!!

    Standard planks
    Plank rotations
Side Planks (also side planks with arm's hitting front and up)
Plank raises (on forearms, alternating going up on hands/back down)
    Planks with alternating thigh touches
    Planks with alternating arm raises
    Planks with alternating leg lifts
Planks w/ feet on an exercise ball

Oh....planks planks planks!!! How I feel you so!!
