Hi all,
Just wondering how many eggs a day everyone eats. I'd like views on how many we should eat health wise. I pretty much have two a day, either hard boiled or poached......I could easily have four!

Between 1-4. I could eat more but i try not to and try to find another proteinsource.0

One or two... if I'm having eggs, which I don't always.0

I normally have 3 egg whites. Whole eggs? I normally have 2. It's not recommended to have more than that per day. and I don't have whole eggs every day, probably twice a week.0

Eggs are high in cholesterol so I eat just the whites (2 or 3 a day)0

1 egg a few times a week- usually scrambled & in a sandwich or tortilla0
-
Because of the cholesterol, I limit myself to 2-3 eggs a day, 2-3 times a week.0

Since they are pretty much the most nutritionally dense things on earth, I recommend eating some yolk. I do 1 whole egg to 1 egg white when I make scrambles or omelets.0 -
I used to average almost one a day (2 eggs sunny side up 3x a week). Now I've switched to egg whites and eat them via omelettes. Still the same amount by minus the yolks.
I figure I'll treat myself down the road with good ole sunny side up (once a month) when I get out of the 300's in a few weeks.0 -
Two egg whites everyday unless I have calories to spare. I eat whole eggs poached or hard/or soft boiled.0
-
Usually egg whites for me and thats every day for breakfast0

Just started eating eggs again... 3 large, or 4 med, whites only. Used to eat 1 whole egg, but too much cholesterol.0

Two if it's the whole egg (tamagoyaki ) or four if I'm just eating the whites.0

I normally have 3 egg whites with my breakfast, or if I have a hard boiled egg for a snack at work, I have one, usually. I try to get my proteins from my other meats and sources throughout the day, and if I'm really behind, I have a protein shake, usually make with either skim milk or coffee in the evenings.0

Also, egglands best uses a special feed (and special hen) to get low cholesterol eggs. We had some on our ranch once, and they seemed pretty normal to me. Worth a try!0

Any more than two whole eggs a day is going to be pretty rough on your cholesterol levels.. I eat eggs on most mornings but instead of 2 large eggs I eat 1/2 cup of eggbeaters, scrambled, for only 60 calories. And 0 cholesterol
A breakfast of eggbeaters w/ 1/4 c shredded mozzarella and a bowl of oatmeal keeps me full all day, from 730 when I eat breakfast until 1215 when I have my lunch. Eggbeaters are great!!0 -
2 egg cupcakes and 2 hard boiled eggs everyday. Yolk included.0
-
5 Egg whites each morning, delicious and filling!0

If I'm making them, always 4 whole eggs. Usually only once or twice per week.0

anywhere from 2 to 4 whole eggs. I hate plain whites and you dont get nearly as much protein. Just watch fat and cholesterol if you eat a bunch.0
-
I use to have one a day but then I had a bad egg and can only manage 2 a week but they are my favorite food.0

I don't eat eggs that much, but I usually have 2 with the yolks inside. It feels me up0

you are absolutely right!! Eggs are the only protein that is a complete protein, other sources of protein are incomplete, and you have to eat other proteins to get all of the amino acidsEggs are high in cholesterol so I eat just the whites (2 or 3 a day)

I once saw a report on tv where a guy was having 18 whole eggs raw mainly in shakes and his cholesterol went down. My naturapath says they have lecithin in them which helps breakdown the cholesterol......lot's of different takes on the humble egg eh?0

I usally use one whole egg and the add three egg whites for a scramble. For some reason I need that color that the one egg brings to the plate.0

Glad to hear i'm not alone on this!
I try to limit myself to maybe 10 to 15 Eggs per week. I know that even though the yolk in the egg is still considered "Good" Cholesterol, it still kinda scares me when I look at my daily diary and it has a big fat -450 Chol left for the day (yikes)
While we're on the subject, does everyone here buy into the notion that baking eggs (like in a quiche or something) reduces the cholesterol impact versus frying it? Just curious...0 -
I have read in multiple places that eating eggs for breakfast is a great way to get your calorie burning engine fired up. All I know is the mornings I get up and have a whole egg for breakfast I seem to have a better day, more energy and more weight loss. I usually only eat one a day but that is just preference.0
