Its just a rough sketch done by me!! SO no judgements xD If i took it took it to an artist it would be MUCH better xD haha

FxCam_1317082043225.jpg

Its says "Mental Escape" Which to me is how I describe my running. I run to be free, I feel at peace. It is the time I feel at complete control of my body and calm. Running is everything to me and has been for a long time.

Opinions? Just kinda came up with this randomly tonight xD

It's your tattoo. It means something precious to you. What's important is that YOU like it.

Where will you get it done? How old are you? What kind of career do you have or see yourself having?

I think it's a lovely tattoo, I would probably put it across my shoulderblades. But, now that I have a Serious Day Job, it would just further hinder what I could wear every day. So, make sure you think it through!

Agree! Color or no color? I like it. I think it would be a nice back piece too.

i think it's awesome! i love the wings! if you did get it on your back, it probably wouldn't affect conservative-clothing choices. i say go for it!

yup! I dont have any others because I give myself at least 6-7 months to make sure I dont change my mind. I REALLY like this tho :]

Ever go to a wedding with tattooed bridesmaids? Tattoos don't go with evening dresses and formal wedding attire. Get one done out of henna. They are beautiful, and unless you have an allergy, you can still show off your great skin in a shoulderless gown.

Outside of my upper thigh :] I didnt get around to coloring it (have nothing to color it with) but I like black and grey tattoos. A little purple would look great tho ^-^

I agree with this ^^ I am cautious! That why I think my thigh would be the best place. Can show it off when I am wearing some shorts! But dresses/work clothes should cover it
  • I think its beautiful!!! Love tattoos myself... planning on getting a full sleeve on my left arm... Its also great that you have taken the time to make sure its what you want to do... I have a few friends who just got a tattoo for the heck of it and regret it... But once again, awesome artwork!!!

The only justification anyone "needs" for a tattoo is; "I want that on my body".

    Nothing else.

So, it really doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.:D

On a practical level, lots of tattoo artists would be happy to work with you to come up with a full design. Any ideas for placements?

Completely agree! Since I drew it myself I thought I would look for some constructive criticism!

I wont be getting it for a long time. But as I said earlier outside of my upper thigh is were im thinking :] keeping my back bare for now ^-^

I think it's beautiful, and moreso because of what it means to you.
And I think you are smart in waiting a while. People change their minds so often, and it's not something you want to be less than 100% sure on.

What a ridiculous statement. Tattoos can look like anything; they're simply decoration. That's like saying earrings don't go with something, or hairstyles don't go with something. Some will, some won't - you can't make a sweeping statement about the entire category.

On that note; why on earth would someone feel unable to show off their back or shoulder tattoos on their wedding day? It's their body.O_O

Odd....I have a tattoo on my upper back that showed with my wedding dress and no one thought it mattered.

My MOH also has one that was visible.

I just went to a wedding with a bride with full sleeves and it was absolutely beautiful.

One of mine is on my inner left thigh, and I do like that placement. You can show it off or keep it hidden without having to think about it.:)

Would it be vertical or horizontal, along your leg? And what kind of colours are you thinking? That kind of design would work with so many.

I was thinking outer left thigh more specifically :] on the outside of my thigh

I want it horizontal and wrapping around only a little. SO you can read it without having to turn my leg of course xD haha

I do like the look of just black and grey. But i would LOVE to add in some deep purple :O

    pretty cool :)

I would like it on my back if it were me, mostly due to the wings.
I want wings tattooed anyways lol

I took a drawing I did to the artist for the one down my side and they made it awesome!
  • I really like this! The style of writing is absolutely gorgeous but still easily readable. If I may offer one suggestion though, there is a lot of white space after Mental and before Escape. It might look a little better if you centered them a little bit more. Its worth a shot to mess around the placement of the words a bit since you're waiting a few months. I hope you post pictures of it when you get it done!

This is an incredibly ignorant statement. I've been to many weddings with tattooed bridesmaids and groomsmen. Also a few with heavily tattooed brides. Its absolutely silly to not get a modification because you're going to get dressed up in a gown once or twice. I can't imagine thinking that my beautiful body art has no place at a wedding. Its part of me, either you take me as I am or not at all.

Thank you so much! I love constructive criticism :] Do you think it would look better if I put escape directly below it? This was just my first sketch and kinda noticed the white space too

I have to agree I have seen many beautiful tattooed brides btw. The only time it is bad is if its a tattoo they regret I think. But otherwise I have seen some elegantly done tattoos that are just gorgeous on a wedding day ^-^

i've had a full sleeve in every wedding i've been a bridesmaid in, and the brides have chosen strapless dresses for me, for the PURPOSE of showing off my tattoos! my own wedding dress showed all my ink. i had no regrets, and experienced nothing but positivity toward my art at any of these events.

You are beautiful!!! I love your ink, tyvm!

Half sleeve on the right is in my not-so-distant future. Where all of my disposable income went I don't know, but when I find it, it's going right in my skin.
