    3 mile walk with my boys for the blue shoe run for prostate cancer. very moving.

    i don't know why i can't get past the mental block of running more than 9 miles. several experienced runners have told me that if i can run 9 miles, i can do a half-marathon. what is my deal? here is how my 12-mile run today went went: going fine, small pain behind my left knee from bikram yoga. get to 9.1 miles and hit a wall. can't run another second. walk a mile, run a mile. hit another wall and want to be done, but i want to run all 12 miles. walk another mile, run another mile. stop and cry, only one more mile to run. walk another mile, run another mile. not fun. i do not know how my half-marathon is going to go in two weeks. :( only short runs next week, so i guess i need to prepare myself that i might have to walk some of it. i feel very discouraged.

    That is what I have been told as well. I did 10 miles one week but I wanted to do 11 another week because I wanted to know I could do 13. Husband & others were saying I would be able to and I'd be fine. I think you'll be fine come race day, adrenalin will take you the rest of the way. Short runs next week will be good for your body, come race day it'll be ready to run long distance. I'm supposed to run in my first 1/2 oct 16 but my knee is now acting up, could only go up to 5 miles last week bec of the pain :-(
    The training program I am following was 17 weeks, I had thought my race was going to be Sept 25. So it's really 20 weeks since race is 3 weeks later. My husband & I think that 17 weeks was just too long of a program and that's why my knee started acting up at week 15. This wednesday I will try to run and see what happens, I would have had 6 days off. If I can't run I will just take a few weeks off and look to doing a 1/2 in march/april and train for 12 weeks instead. When is your 1/2?

    When is your 1/2?

    the half is october 9. good luck with your knee. if you have a good massage therapist in your town, i recommend going once or twice. you may just need to lengthen the it band a bit.

    5 mile run today. i am still sore from the mess on sunday. looking forward to the break from running this weekend.

    was not able to do my 3 mile run today. woke up with left arch pain that has me limping. not sure i'll be able to run tomorrow either. my sister's wedding is this weekend so i probably won't be able to sneak away. looks like my total for the month is 104. sorry i can't do more.

    i'm in for next month but won't produce much - maybe 40-45 miles.

    Wow I cannot believe we were in 1st place!!! That is amazing, you guys out to be proud!

    Loveme-I used the "One Hour Runner" program. There is a thread for it on here and I just "liked" One Hour Runner on Facebook to get the plan. Each week has 3 runs, one is always 30 minutes, one is the "long run" and one is the "medium" run. I used the short and medium runs for drills, hills, HIIT, etc. and the long run just a straight long run. It was really great!

    9/22: 3 miles
    9/23: 1.25 miles
    9/24: 0 miles
    9/25: 2.5 miles
    9/26: 2 miles
    9/27: 3.5 miles
    9/28: 6 miles

    18.25 miles

    Total 74.5 miles

    I'll post on Friday with my final miles for the month. I'm in again for next month and should have more miles next month than I did this month with lots of running gearing up for my 10K the first weekend in November.

    Im in for next month but I dont know if I'll be getting alot of miles in because Im starting Jillian Michaels 30 Day Slim Down Challenge on Oct 1st. I'll do my best :smile:
