Recovering from Heart Surgery

Hi I'm T, I'm 59 and live in Scotland with my hubby. I'm presently 9 weeks post op, having undergone open heart surgery to replace a valve. During the last 6 months or so I have gained a stone in weight due to not being able to exercise because of my heart condition and ultimately some comfort eating post op! Exercise wise all I can do at the moment is walk, but I'm managing 40 mins a day most days. My recovery is going well, but I'd like to start addressing my weight as its getting me down. Wondering if there is anyone on here going through anything similar who might like to chat. Thanks T

I work with heart patients all the time after they get clearance for exercise from their cardiologists. Weight gain is a matter of overeating too many calories. The first and foremost way to address this is to look at your diet and calorie intake vs how many actual calories you burn in a day.
