MFP suggestions don't work?

I've been eating less than my calories goals (but not drastic) and haven't been very good about logging my exercise, so I think I'm getting more than my exercise goals. But I'm still gaining weight! Why?

cause you're not eating enough, so your body does not have the necessary nutrients that it needs

What are your other settings? Lifestyle (sedentary, lightly active, active etc.), weight to lose per week?

Make your diary public, it will make it easier for others to help you

If you open your diary to the public, we can give better suggestions by seeing what you are eating and how much you are exercising. Without that, all responses are bound to be guesses.

Well, it sounds to me like you aren't using this website to its full potential.

Log your exercise. Eat the calories MFP allots you (this means aiming to get your daily calories as close to zero as possible - having 200, 300 or more calories leftover at the end of the day is NOT how this website is designed to be used). Log your water.

Once you are following this site closer to how it is supposed to be followed for a few weeks - then see how things are working. If you're still having trouble losing weight - then it is time to start re-evaluating calories, etc.

Oh and I'm one of those people who gains weight if I don't eat enough. So, it is possible you aren't eating enough.

reading your profile page it says that you are too thin.

perhaps open up your diary for people to look at.

I just noticed this too. If you are too thin, why do you want to lose weight?

If you have your preferences set to 'maintain' your body weight (I'm taking a guess as your profile says you aren't trying to lose weight), it might just be that your body is getting used to the amount of calories you are eating. Give your body some time to adjust.

That's my best guess without more details.

She doesn't say she wants to lose weight, she asks why she's putting on weight.

I was looking at the ticker - it shows 10 pounds as the goal.

Sorry, you are right. I didn't see that.

That's minus 10lbs, in other word to gain.

Sounds like you're achieving your goal to gain a little weight and not be "too skinny" so I'm not sure what you're asking.

Good luck with using MFP to maintain a healthy weight, not everyone is here to lose and if you look around you will find the support you need.
