I’m seeking a circle of support! I’m in my 40s and I have 80+ pounds to lose. I’m witnessing my mother‘s health decline, and I want to give myself the best shot possible for optimal health as I age. I also want to feel as though I am not trapped in my body. If any of resonates with you, please reach out! This is something that I know I can only do with adequate support.

Hi - I am interested in an accountability partner 😊 I am in my mid-40’s and need to lose at least 50 pounds. I have similar feelings. I a so tired of wearing big clothes and always feeling like the overweight one when I am with family and friends. I know I would feel SO much better once I lose it!20

Same here! I’ve got 80lbs to lose (have lost 20, so 60 left) and am 40. Poor family health and trying to provide myself with the best possible future. Please all add me for an accountability friend. I need as much help as possible to stay motivated at the moment 😀2

I turn 39 in a few months, so I don't quite meet the cutoff, but I can relate! I watch my parents, other older relatives, and even peers struggle with weight and fitness related challenges and don't want to go down the same road. I want to set myself for long-term independence and mobility by managing my nutrition and focusing on activities that promote joint and bone health, mobility, and flexibility (yay running, liftinga and yoga!) Feel free to add me!3

Hello! I am 43 and have 52 pounds I’d like to lose. I’ve lost 18 so far since July. It’s gone kind of slow, but I keep working at it!6

Please friend request me! I'm 43, and would like to lose about 20-30 pounds, definitely need some accountability and I really like to help and encourage other people.
My family is filled with diabetes, heart disease, amputations, limited mobility and poor eating habits...I feel the urgency to have a good health-span as well. My husband let his health go to rock bottom and it's killed our marriage, it's affected everything negatively, so I'm dealing with that as well and it's the worst6 -
I’m 44 and just lost 80 lbs . It is possible with watching what I eat and not eating after a certain time. I have neuropathy in my legs and exercise is hard but I ended up using a weight loss shot which help curb food and after that just maintain how your eating . I haven’t been on it for 4 months and lost even more not being on shot. It was a boost I guess my body needed to jump start it3

Waaaay too old for your group, but my mom’s decline was one the the reasons that found me here at age 56. I lost 40% of my total body weight and from completely sedentary, found I loved working out and being in motion.
Mom simply refused to get up and move. Atrophy started in her feet and legs, moved up to torso, then fingers and arms til she couldn’t move anything but her head. I firmly believe the atrophy eventually caused her tongue and digestion to stop working and killed her. It was a slow five year death, confined to a bed in her living room with a continuous diet of JAG reruns and that SVU show.
Not only did her abilities shrink, but so did her world, to what she could see outside the sliding glass door.
Thats my idea of hell.
Ladies, if you do nothing else, get off your *kitten* and get some steps in.
I’m no unicorn, and not special. If I can turn my life around, so can you. I ain’t goin’ out that way.22 -
Hi I’m looking for some accountability partners, I’m 44 and need to loose 40lbs or so. I like Yoga, walking and weights ☀️ 🐥3

I'm not yet 40 but I'm getting closer. My goal is first to get below 200lbs. I'm currently 230lbs my ideal weight is somewhere around 170lbs. I find that I can be pretty good with sticking to goals but, really feel depressed when the scale doesn't move. I'd love to have someone to talk with about goals, struggles, successful days, recipe or snack ideas. I'd love to have some accountability partners that can be encouraging.3

I’d love to be part of this. I’ve just wasted a shitload of money with a personal trainer, and I still look the same. Hoping you can advise how we can best support each other. I’m older but act young so hope that’s ok. I’ve realised my extra little ‘this won’t hurt’ snacks are my downfall.1

I'm 46 and have 60lb to lose!1

First suggestion is.: Don’t blame your trainer in one breath and then admit you know what’s wrong in the next.
Saying this with love, not snarkily. I am the Queen of Been There Done That.
Take some responsibility, and use the app to weigh and log and set limits for yourself.
And if the PT is not a good fit for you, don’t give up. My first two were at Workout Anytime and LA Fitness. Neither was invested in me- very likely because I wasn’t invested in myself at the time.
Once I got on MFP and did begin paying attention, I lucked into an experienced and knowledgeable trainer who absolutely rocked my world. She was 72, tough as nails and took no excuses. After she retired, I didn’t have one for months - except a one time attempt with some guy who wanted to treat me like an old fragile woman- til an instructor at my new gym actually asked if she could train me as her first client. Total different training style but we gelled so well that she now has a waiting list because others have seen the results she got for me- but, again, because I was invested in the process. Win/Win for both of us.
Trainers are a dime a dozen. Quality trainers are rare as hen’s teeth.
Drop the blame, take control of your life, and if you’re not happy with a trainer……next!!!6 -
Hi all! Is anyone on here still looking for an accountability buddy?
I'm turning 44 in February and my goal is to lose about 30 lbs. I've had success in the past but I've gained it back over the last 4 years.
I know a ton about nutrition/fitness but I fall short when it comes to consistency so I'm hoping a buddy will help me with that and also connect me to someone who is ready to be equally excited about this journey!5 -
Please feel free to friend request me! I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 2019. I was 39 at the time and 275 pounds. I got down to 192 pounds. I've been in remission since January of 2021, and unfortunately, I've gained back almost all of the weight. I'm currently 45 years old. My doctors are very concerned about my health and I could really use some accountability.5

I’m 35, and have about 60 lbs at least to lose. Let’s connect and help support one another!3

Hello, I’m 46 and have 100 lbs to lose, an accountability partner or group would be really great, I would love to do this with others in the same situation.1

Hey
I’m 42 will be 43 16 Jan. I would like to lose 10 pounds. I’m a short gal 5 foot so the weight shows a bit. I’m eating about 1,300 cals a day but I think lack of sleep is also my issue.
My weight has fluctuated a lot. In 2020 my mother died and I stopped eating. So I naturally lost a lot of weight. But was not healthy. I then gained it all back a year later and more. So yeah I need any tips that you can give ha ha1 -
47 here and going through perimenopause. It makes it impossible to lose weight. 😭3
-
Definitely interested. Turned 40 last year. Have about 20kg to lose. Been diagnosed with high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Definitely need to make some changes.2
-
I'm 41, have lost 150lb but have struggled up and down the same 20lb for last few years instead of getting permanently rid of 50-80 more pounds.
I've already lost my mum. She had strokes in her late 30's that were untreated as docs told her it's just a headache (and ignored other stroke symptoms) and to go lay down. She developed vascular Alzheimer's and epilepsy
I have high cholesterol that they think is an inherited type but it's 0.5 below the cut off for specialist and high blood pressure that they are ignoring 🤷🏻♀️
I don't want to end up like my mum so trying to clean up my act again since I already have several autoimmune conditions along with two special needs kids3
