I sit here smiling as it is the advice that I would give myself today as well: Stop worrying; you are smart enough to get through that course!

I would tell myself that you should seek help at the first sign of depression, don't suppress the negative feelings and thoughts you have, get help

Don't waste 20 years of your life being fat and telling yourself everything will be better "when you lose weight".

Seriously, being overweight was a shadow that affected every potential happiness in my life. Now I'm 42 and yes, it's nice to be thinner, but it's not lifechanging, and I'm sad for all of that time wasted being unhappy.

Its not perfect, it never will be. Forget about the fairy tales and appreciate the messy, painful, beautiful, exciting, monotonous, incredible life you're given.

It's the hard times that teach you how to enjoy the awesome times.

You made it through the worst times that came before this hard time, it won't kill you so grit your teeth and hold on. You'll make it through.

Don't waste time on your past. After you learn from it move on. There's nothing left for you back there except more pain.

Forgive. It's the best gift you will ever give YOURSELF.

Don't waste time complaining to other people. They don't want to hear it anymore than you want to hear their laundry list of complaints.

Take a moment to look around. Life is beautiful even when it's not.

So many things I wish I could have taught my 20 year old self, it would have saved so much wasted time and tears
