Question about daily caloric need.........

Hi All,

I'm sorry if this question has been asked prior, but I don't have time to search it out. With regard to the recommended caloric need that MFP provides, does that number seem to be spot on? I was wondering if there is a better tool online or should I just trust the number it gives me. I'm currently 6'4" 290, 38yrs old, male. It says that 2450 cal would put me at a 2 lb a week loss (245 lb goal). I have been sticking to 2200 or so most days with a weekly high calorie day. The weight has been dropping.

Curious if you all use the MFP recommendations.
