So i am new to mfp and i have been walking/running on my lunch breaks and usually get about 4-5.25 miles in during that time.. so i am burning 550-790 calories as well. i add that in and then it says i still have 1200 calories remaing, and this is after i have had breakfast, lunch and a morning and after noon snack. so i guess my question is.. after having all those foods, working out, and then it still tellnig me i should have 1200 more calrioes.. so do i need to hit that mark everytime ?

How many calories does MFP give you?
I read that you should definitely eat your exercise calories. I found it weird in the beginning when people struggled to eat all of them back, but now that i exercise more, i get it, especially having changed my food throughout the day to low cal and also stopped snacking to some extent.
I aim to not be under 1000cals net and the same, when i have a heavy day, ie out for dinner or drinks, not to go over 1500net.
hope this helps a little0 -

This is a pretty accurate calculator and the caloric intake was similar to what was recommended by my physician and Beachbody fitness site versus MFP. My calories on MFP are way overboard if I want to lose at least 2 pounds per week.0 -
I would buy a heart rate monitor. Sometimes the exercise calorie estimates are much higher than actual.
Also, I eat snacks three times a day on days that I exercise. This helps me eat back my calories spread out my energy.0 -
MFP gives me 1200 calories per day. I am currently 201 and my goal is to be 150 by feb 1st. so that is about 2.5 lbs a week. this is what my food diary usually looks like... any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Your sugar numbers are way too high IMO. Your sugar consumption should primarily come from fresh fruit. Non-fat almost always has a higher sugar content also. Trying subbing out protein - like an egg for heavy carbs and sugar at breakfast.
When I first started MFP, I scoured the recipe blog for cheater deserts high in sugar, but low in calories. In the end, I figured out that it was better to get rid of the unnecessary sugar or substitutes all together and sub in lean protein. For instance tonight I am having homemade fish tacos with homemade guacamole...yum.0 -
Also, when you get rid of the "low fat" food, you will find that it will provide those extra calories your body needs.0
