12/29-179.8-(Trend Weight 179.3)- I am teetering on re-entering the 180’s which is horrifying for me after all the hard work. Yesterday was travel (restaurants and sitting), today is the biggest baking day of the year (bites, tastes and licks) and tomorrow is the Family Feast and Gift Opening with all the children/spouses and grandchildren. So the numbers are only going to get worse. I’ll do my best but I know my weaknesses and my limits. January better watch out as I am coming at it with a vengeance!
12/30-DNW-(Trend Weight DNW)- I forgot to take my weekly Fosamax so I took it this morning with a large glass of water. I forgot to weigh first so I’ll have to see the damage another day. I baked all day yesterday and made fudge. I also cleaned the house spick & span top to bottom in anticipation for today’s Family Christmas event. I know my weight is up due to all the BLT’s and the lack of real structured exercise. This will be followed by the Feast today. Tomorrow will not be pretty on the scale. Unfortunately it is the end of the month as well as the end of the year tomorrow and I would like a final tally so I will probably have to bite the bullet and get on the scale and lump it. January will be my atonement.

December 31: 73.1kg (160.82 LBS)
Loss this month = 1.6kg (-3.52lbs)
Total Loss = 8.9kg
Remaining to hit goal = 11.1kg
Goals for the month:
- Track Calories in, and hit my target kcals (1800)
- 30 minutes exercise per day (mixture strength training & treadmill walking / hiking)
Reflection on the month:
Started super strong and disciplined and that faded towards the end of the month as I got tired of tracking and exercise fatigued!
I also slipped when faced with events where I was tempted / put in positions where I wasn't home in my kitchen controlling the food (xmas, movies etc)
I think I can achieve a better loss next month, as I only started my exercise mid way through December, and I believe this is contributing in addition to tracking the food
See you all over in January's thread, and congratulations to everyone who logged for the whole month!5 -

Hello, I’m Jill. 🥰I’m 53, 5’7” and I live in Michigan.
My goals for December🎄 :
⚖️Weigh- in daily
📝Log daily
🙆♀️Stretch daily/ Move daily
Get back down to under 200 pounds
Starting weight January 1st: 224.5
January weight lost: 7.7 pounds
February weight lost: 5 pounds
March weight lost: 6 pounds
April weight lost: 6.5 pounds
May weight lost: 2.6 pounds
June weight lost: 1.6 pounds
July weight lost: 1.3 pounds
August weight lost: up 1 pound
September weight loss: 1.8 pounds
October weight loss: up 3.1 pounds
November weight loss: up .6 pounds
🎄December:
1: 203.4– Time to get all gears going. I’ve been really good getting on the scale everyday, but I have a hard time with consistent logging.
I’ve noticed that it’s easier on the computer than the phone, so my goal for December is to log every day.
2: 203.5– logged for breakfast… it’s the very beginning of getting back into logging, so I’ll take that as a win. Baby steps.
3: 201.6 not sure what happened… but I’ll take it. I weigh myself 4x then take the average… so we’ll see what happens tomorrow.
4: 203.6–there is the bounce back. It’s all good though. Taking carrots to work as my crunchy snack today, along with soup and salad. My goal is to log everything today. Happy Monday!
5: 201.3 I logged everything and it felt great!
Let go for 2 in a row.
6: 202.3 Day 2 of logging is complete! Let’s do 3!
7: 202.5 Day 3 complete. It wasn't pretty but it was logged! Day 1 of exercise. Up to the Beat fitness by Gina B on YouTube is my go to exercise.
8: 202.6 Day 4 of logging and day 2 of exercise. Starting healthy routines for 2024 now. Now to get my snacking under control!😉
9: 202.8 Day 5 of logging and my snack monster 👿 is in overdrive… fighting the logging…but I know this is what I need to do to get and stay below 200 pounds. It takes me a good month to get everything in sync… logging, staying at or below calories, and exercise. December won’t be pretty, but I’m happy to be creating healthy routines.
10: 202.5 Day 6 of logging.
11: 203.6 Day 7 of logging. Lots of salty foods yesterday. Time to whip up a big salad for lunch… and take some clementines.
Finished up Christmas decorating with the family last night.
12: 203.6 Day 8 of logging and trying to let go of guilt with snacking. Setting up healthy habits for 2024.
13: 203.8 Day 9 of logging and as you can see, my brain is fighting it. I need to start listening harder to my stomach instead of my brain when it comes to food. Working on getting it back into check. All part of the process.
I will be posting the 🌺🌼2024–52 Week Challenge🌼🌺 New Year/Healthier You challenge closer to January along with our continued monthly challenges. I’m so happy you’re all on board for 2024!
14: 205 😔 My husband tested positive for Covid yesterday. His las Covid booster was around Halloween this year so we’re hoping it’s mild. The kids and I all tested negative.
15: 203.1 hanging in there!
16: 202.3 Coming to the realization that…”I eat to live and not live to eat”. I deserve to heat things that will help me get healthier and not the junk that bogs me down.
17: 201.6 🎄
18: 201.8 Holding steady with weight. It's amazing what you can do when you log! Slowly getting back into it.
19: 201.7
20: 202.7… too many Christmas cookies. Got my fill yesterday. Only 5 days until Christmas. Finishing up wrapping today then making soup.
21: 203.7 … good soup and white chicken chili was made. I’ve realized that I can’t stop at just one cookie or just one potato chip. I like to think I can, but I can’t… and self- realization is part of this whole journey. Back to work today.
22: 203.4… I’m back to my December 1st weight. I’d like to finish the year under that.
23: DNW
24: 203.2 Merry Christmas Eve!
25: 204.6 Merry Christmas!!!
26: 204.5 Hope everyone had a nice holiday!
27: 205.6
28: 205.2
29: 204.4
30: 203.7

@iLive2Walk you're the sweetest for checking in! We're doing OK! We're on day four and the symptoms are still hanging on, which is lame. But we're doing movie marathons and unlimited screen time so the kids are pro-quarantine at this point...
I hope Monty is on the mend!!3 -

20: 🥙 the holiday chaos is striking - I'm baking for the offices I work at, which is taking more time than I thought, and now I'm trying to estimate how much cookie dough I've stress eaten 🙄 in focusing on keeping up with my tracking even if it's not what I would have initially planned for.

Hello I'm Darlene and have been with this group for a while now. Retired, 63-year-old. Married (Greg), one adult daughter (Allyson), and one goldendoodle (Monty). I have been on this weight loss journey since January 2023. 💖I wouldn't be where I am today without this group (along with a couple other challenges I am in); I am so thankful for their support and accountability. 💖
🤶🎄My Goals for December🎄🤶
⚖️ Lose 4 pounds (always my goal) - Will be tough this month, but am keeping it anyway
17K steps daily with one day of rest
📝 Log Daily
🥗 Stay under my calorie range
💪 Strength Train 3 days per week
🧘♀️ Tai Chi or Yoga 1 day per week
💦 6+ glasses of water
👣 📝 🥗 💪 🧘♀️ 💦
Highest Weight 228
November Ending Weight 164.6
Dec 1: 164.8 📝 🥗 💪 🧘♀️ Hello December!
Dec 2: 165 👣 📝 🥗 🧘♀️ 💦 My first holiday event this weekend. Greg and I are off to Newport, RI. We go every year this time of year. It is a city set on an island in Rhode Island. Really cute shops, great restaurants. They decorte the city for Christmas. We go and see the lights, do some shopping and our annual "Taste of Newport". We usually go to 5 different restaurants (Lunch, Appetizer, Dinner, Dessert and BF the following morning), and plenty of drinks with that. This will be the first year that I'm going since I started this weight loss journey. I am going to enjoy myself, but also going to try to curb that this year. We are thinking - just small plates for each and and/or sharing. I won't be weighing tomorrow, but will be back Monday AM to catch up.
Dec 3: DNW 👣
Dec 4: 167.2 👣 It could have been a lot worse. We had a wonderful time - back at it today. Hoping it comes off as quickly as the Thanksgiving gain did. Here is a picture of us on the balcony of our room - sunset and harbor in background. It was a beautiful day - almost 50 degrees.
Dec 5: 166.8 👣 📝 Bingo night with Mom, got home and was ravinous. Don't know why but the late night binge took place and I ate over my calorie range. It will probably show up on the scale tomorrow.
Dec 6: 166.8 👣 📝 🥗 🧘♀️ 💦
Dec 7: 165.8 👣 📝 🥗 💦 Trying to get back to my low before our next event on the 16th. It's getting there slowly. Took a 5 mile walk at the beach yesterday - love the smell of the salt water. We were practically the only ones there - Monty had a wonderful time. Came home, did a little xmas shopping.
Dec 8: 164.8 📝 🥗 💦 Almost there! Rest day. Monty went to the groomer; thought we would wait for him to get home before we took out walk - but it took ALL day - he was gone for 6 hours. Apparently they had some kind of problem with another customer - so they did them first. I wasn't too happy. We skipped the walk. He does look nice though.
Dec 9: 164.6 😁👣 📝 🥗 💦 Made it back to my low!
Dec 10: 164 😁👣 📝 🥗 💪 💦 Woo Hoo! Quiet day yesterday - decorated the outside for xmas, wrapped some presents. My normal workout routine. Today it is supposed to rain all day - so no walks outside. I have to do it on the treadmill - Ugh! I can never do the 5.5 miles straight on the treadmill (my normal morning walk). I have to break it up into 2 miles stretches - gets way to boring for me. Yes - I do watch TV why I'm doing it - but just not the same as being outside. Maybe do some "Get Fit with Rick" routines to get some of the time in.
Dec 11: 163.6 😁👣 (aka ddainiak) I changed my name! Very happy to see a loss because I was not on plan yesterday. I have a few drinks and when I do that I give in to my temptations. Feel lousy this morning.
Dec 12: 164 👣 📝 I walked and logged, but got into the goodies last night so went a bit over my limit. Not by much, but over!
Dec 13: 163.6 📝 🥗 I did walk yesterday, but didn't make my 17K goal. I guess I'll call it my rest day (wasn't planning on it). I have been terrible with the water - will concentrate on that today.
Dec 14: 164.2 👣 Bong! Bong! But it is what I expected today. I was off plan all day - been a tough week for me to stick to it. I need to get it together for the next couple days - friends Christmas party on Saturday where I know I will overdo it a bit. My committment - get it all done for the next two days!
Dec 15: 163.6 👣 📝 🥗 💦 I was on plan yesterday and I'm back to my low. We have a visitor for the next 3 days My sister is at a wedding in Texas, and we are taking care of her pup while she is away. Rex is a little yorkie! All of 10 pounds. Monty thinks he is a toy, but is very good with him. He can't walk as far as Monty, so we will be taking shorter walks - hoping to get a few in each day so I don't have to make it up on the treadmill.
Dec 16: 163.6 👣 📝 Our annual Friends Christmas party tonight. We are hosting; I know that I will be off my plan today, and the scale will show it tomorrow but gonig to enjoy the day and get back at it tomorrow.
Dec 17: 164.6 👣 I am actually pleased that I didn't go over my ending weight from November. We had a wonderful evening - a lot of laughs and great food. Will be on plan for the next six days and then three days of holiday festivities.
Dec 18 165 Busy with cooking Christmas cookies for the Bingo group tonight - was kind of a hot mess with tasting and did not meet any of my goals! I find that if I go off plan - I say "what they heck, I blew it already" and I continue through the day and tracking goes out the window. I will need to work on that for 2024!
Dec 19 164.6 👣 📝 💪 💦 Was doing well with staying within my calorie range and then went over with the goodies from Bingo. I tried my best to log them though! Lots of steps yesterday 23K!
Dec 20: 164.6 👣 📝 🥗 💦 Hanging on to my November weight. At this point I'll be happy with staying even for the month.
Dec 21: 164.8 👣 📝 🥗 💪 💦 Got up in the middle of the night, couldn't sleep, ate some chips. Technically in today's calorie range. Not the best thing to log first thing in the morning.
Dec 22: 164.6 👣 📝 🥗 💪 My favorite number! LOL Today starts our holiday festivities - baking day and out to dinner tonight - just the two of us - a calm before the hussel and bussel starts. I'm thinking I will avoid the scale until next Friday, so I won't be discouraged. I'll still check in!
Dec 23: DNW Didn't make any of my goals yesterday. Baked all day - ate too many Christmas cookies. At the end of the day my husband and I said - the only thing I ate today was cookies - we ordered a pizza for dinner - good thing was we order a small and I only had three pieces (that's good for me).
Dec 24: DNW
Dec 25: DNW - Merry Christmas! We celebrated yesterday; every year we see a play around the holiday - this year we got tickets for Dream Girls and the only seats we could get were Christmas Eve. It was wonderful, but unfortunately Greg was sick, so he stayed home. 😢 After the show we ususally go out for dinner, but because Greg was sick we picked up take out and brought it home. Today - we go to my Aunt's house a celebration with extended family. We don't exchange gifts - just have a nice buffet dinner (everyone brings something).
Dec 26: DNW - I was going to say that I was disappointed in myself on how much I indulged the last three days, but then I read a post in a group that I am in that set me straight. In summary it said our time is so short and we seldom have an opportunity to really feel the love from the people who truely love us the most, so enjoy yourself and start again tomorrow. Today I'm going to put on my sweats, walk a little longer, track, drink my water - and think about my 2024 goals! We can do this! Happy Boxing Day!
Dec 27: 165.2 - 👣 📝 🥗 I had to weigh in for one of my challenges - was better than I expected. Now to get below where I started this month. If I can just lose .1 pound this month I will be happy - then I can say I lost weight every month in 2023. Felt good to meet all my daily goals!
Dec 28: 164.8 👣 📝 🥗 💦 Quiet day yesterdday, did some grocery shopping - did the laundry. Going to keep the tree up until after the New Year, but I need to clean up all the junk that accumulated in the house since the holiday. How does it get messy so fast? I also haven't ticked a "stretching" exercise in a while (not my favorite), so will accomplish that today.
Dec 29: 164.8 👣 📝 🥗 🧘♀️ Rainy day yesterday - started the day with a walk on the treadmill instead of outside (don't enjoy it as much). The rain stopped after lunch, so got out for another walk in the afternoon - the waterfalls were really flowing after all the rain; beautiful. Also managed to get in some chair yoga (yuck). I missed my water goal - have to concentrate on that today - only two more days to get under 164.6 - hope I make it! 🤞
Dec 30: 164.8 👣 📝 🥗 I got a little derailed yesterday. Still managed to get the steps in, and was under my calorie goal - but the sodium was way to high and I didn't get in my water. Monty took ill, diarrhea and was throwing up all day - ended up taking him to the emergency vet in the afternoon - x-rays, blood work done - both were ok - just an upset stomach - dehydrated from throwing up. They gave him fluids, an anit-vomit drug, and he is on doggy peptid AC, and probiotics. He slept through the night ok. 🥺
Dec 31: 164 👣 📝 🥗 💪 💦 Happy New Year's Eve.4 -
December and Yearly Reflection
Thought I would combine my December and Yearly Reflections in one post!
December
December was a challenging month for sure. I didn’t meet my 4-pound goal this month, but was able to pull a loss at the last minute, even though it was only a half pound. At least it wasn’t a gain, and I am able to say that I lost every month in 2023. I am down 64 pounds this year.
I logged over 200 miles in December, I just met my 2,500-mile goal. I signed up for the 2024 in 2024 challenge again next year. It was a lot of fun and kept me moving.
I changed my username – am now iLive2Walk; it fits me! Didn’t really have to change anything with MFP – my challenges and posts came with me. I did need to inform the leaders of the challenges that I am in, so that they could change their spreadsheets.
2023 Reflection
What a year it has been. In January my husband went back to work on a temporary assignment for six months. It was the first time in my life that I was alone most of the day. I thought it was the perfect time for me to focus on me for a change and vowed to lose weight, get healthy, give up some bad habits, and exercise. I started walking every day and found a tracker to record my yearly miles. I started with a goal of 1,960 miles in 2023. My weight loss goal was to get out of the obese category – which would mean about 60 pounds. When Greg’s assignment was over, I was worried that I would fall back into the old routine – but happily he not only supported my quest to get healthy, he joined me every day for my AM walk (weather permitting)!
Since moving to East Hampton 20 years ago, I have had this thought about walking the entirety of the Airline trail from East Hampton to Willimantic. I also thought this was the perfect opportunity for me to accomplish that. I started the trek on January 23. I posted my intention on Facebook to keep me accountable and blogged about my daily adventures. I completed the 62-mile journey on February 22, averaging a little over 2.5 miles per day and lost 14 pounds in the process. I thought, “what now”?
I found My Fitness Pal and started tracking my daily calories. This wasn’t motivating enough, so found the challenges forum on the site and thought let’s give it a try. I was addicted. I joined many challenges on the site – too many. I have my favorites – two that are competition based, The Biggest Loser Challenge and the Hogwarts Challenge. They make losing weight and exercising fun. I liked them so much that I became a co-captain of the BLC challenge. I chose this one because Hogwarts is too creative for my mathematical brain to be a leader - LOL. I also am fond of a couple others (Fat to Fit and the 5% challenges) which are a lot less intense. The last two tend to overlap with my favorites, so aren’t too hard to manage. I am also in a support group, for friendship and encouragement. I know it seems like a lot – but I love it, it keeps me motivated, and most importantly they are working for me!
In October I met my 60-pound loss goal, and I added a new goal, another 28 pounds to get in the ideal range. I have lost 64 pounds so far, another 24 to go to meet my goal. I met my 1,960 miles in 2023 goal in October, upped the goal to 2,023 and met that in November. I ended the year with a little over 2,500 miles.
What are my plans for 2024?- Starting the year with a 10K walk in January 1
- I will reach my goal weight – hoping by my birthday in August; then the maintenance period – which I’m thinking will be just as hard, if not harder.
- I am continuing with my groups on My Fitness Pal.
- I am also feeling very nostalgic and decided to do the Airline Trail again – this time Greg is joining me. Can’t wait – he is a little under the weather at the moment – will start when he is healthy.
- I signed up for the 2,024 miles in 2024. I was going to change to intentional walking only, but the 2,023 routine worked for me so I’m going to do the same for 2024.
- I am going to focus a little more on nutrition this year, not just calories-in, calories-out. I think in the beginning of the year I will just monitor it – see how close I am to getting my recommended macronutrients goals, then adjust as I become more familiar with it.
- Try to get at least 6 glasses of water in.
- Strength train 3 days/week, flex 1 day.
- Read a little more.
- Have some fun.

Today we say goodbye to 2023. December has been the best weight loss month I've experienced since becoming a member of this group. I lost 7 pounds in December and a total of 9 pounds since joining our Daily Weigh-In forum in Sep. Thanks for all of the support, encouragement, motivation, and accountability you have provided. I'm looking forward to 2024. Let's continue to move towards our healthy goals together this New Year!

This challenge really helped me lose weight this month.
My goal was simple: to weigh myself everyday and to count calories. If I got exercise, it was a bonus. I was able to meet most of my goals. I weighed myself most days, counted calories, and exceeded my exercise goal. This is how we do it🎵🎶.
Starting weight in March 2023: 230 lbs.
Goal weight: 120 lbs.
Height: 5’2”
Total loss: 48.6 lbs.
End of Sept. weight: 187.8 lbs.
End of October weight: 188
End of Nov. weight: 186
End of Dec. weight: 181.2 lbs.
Monthly Weight Loss:
March-10 lbs. (2023)
April- 8 lbs.
May- 5 lbs.
June- 4.4 lbs. (trip to Europe)
July- 5.6
August-7 lbs. joined a ‘challenge’
September- 2.6 lbs. ( sick)
October- (gained) .2 lbs.
November- loss 1.2 lbs.
December- 4.4 lbs.
Dec. 1- 185.6 lbs. I was happily surprised that I lost weight in November, even a small loss. I basically kind of took a break from most exercise activities, stopped logging in my food diary, stopped weighing myself, and ate unhealthy, fast food fairly often. It was a stressful time for me with family. I didn’t really make myself a priority which I know is important to do sometimes. I must learn to deal better with stress. I can feel my body missing the exercise, and hope to change that.
Dec. 2- 185.6 lbs. went for an early swim
Dec. 3- 185.6 swim
Dec. 4- 185 dance class- I’m desperate to lose and break this two month plateau. It’s a tough time of year to try and lose weight, but I’m very focused. I’m sick of seeing the same numbers on the scale.
Dec. 5- DNW
Dec. 6- 183.8 lbs. osteoporosis fitness class. We use a video. Haven’t been for a long time.
Dec. 7- 183.6 lbs. early swim
Dec. 8- DNW fitness class, elliptical
Dec. 9- 183.6 lbs.
Dec. 10- 184.4 lbs. overate last night, logged it, early swim today
Dec. 11- 183.2 lbs. dance class- I need to find a way to eat in a more balanced way. My hunger really varies, and I’d like to know why. I’m fighting a constant battle with my calorie goals. My father used to say that it’s good for your body to feel a little hunger sometimes. Was he correct? Must one feel hunger in order to lose weight?
Dec. 12- 182.4 lbs. yesterday I upped my calories, and it seemed to work. My hunger was satiated. Singing in Christmas concert tonight-fun🎶😄
Dec. 13- 182.8 wine and party last night. Logged everything . Fitness class and gym today
Dec. 14- 181.8 movie night with friends last night, ate late, but logged everything, swim today
Dec. 15- 181.8 For the last 5 days I’ve been eating at a slightly higher calorie limit. I feel more satisfied, and able to stay around my limit. I hope I’ve found my sweet spot. Maybe it’s because I’ve added wine to my diet🥳🍷.
Dec. 16-19 DNW
Dec. 20- 182.7 lbs.
Dec. 21- 181.4 lbs. I doubt this is a true weight. We’ll see tomorrow.
Dec. 22- 181.4 lbs. I took the lowest scale reading, fitness class, set up tables for Christmas dinner
Dec. 23- 182 lbs. what? Today has been an emotional roller coaster. Two of my kids have Covid and their families can’t come for Christmas dinner and party. Luckily, I’m able to postpone it to a later date. Very happy right now because If they’re all well, they will all come later (16 of them).
This seems to happen every year. Wanted to just eat today because of the stress. Good news is that I’m not giving in and spoiling this month’s efforts.
Dec. 24- 181lbs. Planning on pizza, some treats tonight. Will try to log it all. Early swim.
Dec. 25- DNW obvious reasons
Dec. 26- DNW
Dec. 27- 182.6 osteoporosis aerobics class, and rode bike in gym, trying to get back on track with eating
Dec. 28- 180.8 lbs. very happy with this weight. Yesterday I weighed later in the day, so that’s why such a big loss. Still, this is the lowest weight I’ve been since I started this journey. This motivates me to keep at it. Swam early this morning.
Dec. 29 DNW getting ready for family Christmas dinner tomorrow. Everyone has recovered from Covid.
Dec. 30- 181.4 lbs. hosting big dinner today.
Dec. 31- 181.2 lbs. New Year’s Eve Gala tonight, 4 course dinner, wine, champagne at midnight etc.
I’m happy I’m still moving in the right direction. I feel like the tortoise in the story “The tortoise and the Hare”. I hope to win the race in 2024👍🐢.

Dec 31: DNW Just ducking in to say thank you for all of the support this year. I'm going into January with renewed focus on weight, health, and personal development. Wishing you all the best for a safe and fun evening, and a great start for 2024!3 -
Hello, I'm a busy mom and this is my 4th month with this group. I am slowly working my way to my goal weight.
My goal for December is to not get derailed by Christmas! This will be a challenge, because I love to eat ALL the Christmas cookies from December 25-early January. My goal will be to log from December 27-31, in addition to checking in daily.
Start weight September 1: 141.0 lbs
December start weight: 128.2 lbs
December goal: 126.6 lbs Considering Christmas, I want to be conservative with my goal, but I want to still have an overall loss for the month.
December 1: 128.2 I logged 🎄
December 2: 129.2
December 3: 128.8
December 4: 129.4 I logged 🎄 Had extremely busy days on the 1st & 2nd; went out to dinner at a restaurant; and have had some hormonal issues with my cycle starting. Hopefully this is the worst of the gain. Now I can get back to my calorie goal & logging.
December 5: 129.4 I logged 🎄
December 6: 128.6
December 7: 128.8 I logged 🎄
December 8: 128.4 I logged 🎄 Lately I have found it very tough to make my calorie goal. Gotta just keep trying every day.
December 9: 127.4 I logged 🎄 Yesssss! Yesterday it wasn't hard to reach my calorie goal. I had a big breakfast and then lots of protein in the afternoon. Maybe that had something to do with it. Or, maybe I'm getting used to my calorie goal again.
December 10: 127.6
December 11: 126.8 Woo-hoo; very happy with today's weight. I have not felt very good the last couple days; decided to take the day off from logging yesterday, but I was careful not to overindulge.
December 12: 127.8 I logged 🎄 Didn't feel so good yesterday either! Logging went by the wayside. I really think it's hormonal. I think I'm feeling better today; my goal is to log successfully today.
December 13: 127.8 I logged 🎄
December 14: 127.8 I logged 🎄 This morning I thought surely the scale was "stuck." But it's acting normal these days, so 127.8 it is. Also; our new cat is causing me to get more exercise. He keeps trying to climb our Christmas tree and attack the ornaments, and I am spending quite a bit of energy chasing him around.
December 15: 127.0
December 16: 126.6 I logged 🎄 I am pleasantly surprised with today's weight. Yesterday we made gingerbread cookies and I'm pretty sure I ate too many, and I stopped logging for the day. We will see if this did any significant damage. Hopefully not. It has been many years since we've made gingerbread; it is so much fun. My goal for today is to log successfully and include a couple gingerbread cookies if desired, without going crazy.
December 17: 126.8
December 18: 127.2 I logged 🎄 Not surprised to see the scale go up. Yesterday was a big day; I was not able to log, AND I got super super hungry and probably ate too much. It's ok. My goal for today through the 24th is to log and meet my calorie goal every day. Hubby has noticed the weight loss; he said that "it's like hugging a 20-year old you."
December 19: 126.6
December 20: 126.8
December 21: 126.2 I logged 🎄 I did not log on the 19th or 20th. I was in a frenzy of Christmas shopping! I think I'm done shopping, so I think I can log today. I'm glad the number on the scale is looking good.
December 22: 126.4
December 23: 126.2
December 24: 125.4
My goals for the rest of the month...
25th: weigh-in optional, no logging
26th: weigh-in; logging optional
27th: weigh-in
27th-29th: out of town. I won't have my scale and I do not use MFP on a smart phone, so I probably will not be logging on MFP or checking in. I would like to keep a hand-written food log just to help with the daily habit of logging and tracking my food.
30th & 31st: log all food, even if over on calories, and check in both days.
December 25: 125.4
December 26: 127.4 Lots of heavy food! Now, here I come to the big challenge of the month.... Enjoying special, rich food without going overboard or getting derailed. I'm off to travel for a few days to visit with family. My goal will be to just be moderate with food. I will bring a little notebook to keep a hand-written log, and I will do my best. The next part of my goal is to check in here daily when I get back! Merry Christmas everyone 🎄
December 27: 126.6
December 28: DNW (travel)
December 29: DNW (travel)
December 30: 128.4
December 31: 128.4 Happy New Year, everyone! I will see you in the January thread.

@iLive2Walk your post is so inspiring and it's made me think about setting my own walking goal for the new year!
This group is such an encouragement - posting in here is often one of the last things I do in the day. I find myself looking forward to everyone's updates and a chance to check in ❤️
I've opted to switch out New Years Resolutions for New Years Continuations - focusing on things that have worked really well for me over the list few months that I'm excited to bring into the new year with me. Here are the ones that I used to struggle with that are not only habits now, but things I look forward to and appreciate each day:
1. Meal prepping breakfast and lunch
2. Going to spin class
3. 1 hour of cleaning each day
4. Better skin care (morning and bedtime)
I'm looking forward to bringing in the new year with all of you!4 -

12/31-183.8-(Trend Weight 180.2)- ”Pulling hair out on both sides of head” Yiiikesssss! It looks like I’ve got my work cut out for me!!!!! You are NOT GOING TO BELIEVE what my secret Santa present was. (We buy for children and draw names for adults only). Get ready for this…..Hundreds of dollars worth of Chocolate!!!! It is designed to be 365 days of chocolate with a piece (or a serving as listed) for each day of the coming year. Every expensive and fancy brand you can think of. And my secret person was MY FOODIE DAUGHTER that is here so often. Excuse me….how many talks have I had with her 100 pound frame about how I am trying to improve my diet and LOSE WEIGHT? Has she forgotten that I am a DIABETIC? By the way, NOT ONE PIECE is sugar-free chocolate. It was accompanied by multiple bottles of Asti and some very nice lotion. She had purchased a wrapping paper hanging tote thingy and filled the clear pockets with the poison. It was so heavy that she had to have one of the men carry it in for her. WTH? I must tell you that my daughter is the type of person who could actually just eat one small piece or one little truffle per day and have no problem stopping at one. I am not. I am trying to formulate a plan. Simply freezing it will not work as I have no problem melting chocolate in my mouth. On top of all that, I’m still loaded down with Christmas Cookies and fudge from our gathering as well. My head has been spinning since I opened the gift last night! Help! My refection for 2023: I lost a total of 16.0 pounds. I also learned to eat some new foods that are good for my health as well as my waistline. Happy New Year Eve, my friends. Stay safe out there!

24: 203.2 Merry Christmas Eve!

30: 203.7
31: 205.8 Happy New Year's Eve!
We've all made it to the end of the year! I am so proud of all of us.
I'm down 18.7 pounds for the year and I am very happy! I did reach my goal of getting below 200 pounds...I didn't hang out there for long...but I did reach the goal...and I didn't yo-yo as much as I did the year before.
I'm excited about 2024...New year/Healthier you!
I look forward to all of the updates and encouragement along to way.
Cheers to 2024!

@deepwoodslady Oh no! Perhaps you could donate it? If it were me - I wouldn't keep it. I know myself way to well, it wouldn't end pretty. Your daughter may not appreciate it, but at the same time might finally realize that you mean business. Sending hugs your way.1
