Anyone want to be friends? I'm 46 and been battling this weight for years. I need to get solid on this.2

Greetings, I'm 48 and need to lose 45lbs. I am a thyroid cancer survivor and it's really hard to get this weight off! My body has been wanting real foods for awhile. I've just started to listen to it. Recently, my cholesterol has been up and even my blood pressure. These are issues, I tend not to have.
I have been working out for awhile, but still no weight loss!
I go to the Y, lift weights, stretch, yoga, and started jogging slightly. More or less, healthy choices and lifestyle changes are key!
I'm here for new friends and a support system.2 -
I’m 45 I would love to start by loosing 20 pounds. Once I do that I wan to see how I look feel to get back in the 160’s then I will see if I want to loose another 20-30 to get down to 130. My mom’s health is getting worse and I just don’t want to go down the same path.0

I’ve just hit the big 40 and really wanting to lose the last 2 stone since gaining a lot of weight on my last pregnancy 3 years ago! I’ve lost myself completely and want my confidence back and this stubborn weight to go! Looking for friends to add me to support each other ❤️1

I'm turning 40 this year and gained a bunch of weight over some stressful years. Hoping to lose 28-35lbs. Please send a friend request. I've found supportive friends on here motivating, and hopefully I do the same! My plan is an average of 1500 calories a day, 90g protein, 20g fibre, 10000 steps and working out on weekdays doing pilates, yoga, kettle bells and kickboxing.1

Vitamins: Morning fish oil, prenatal and fiber.. Night time: Magnesium and blood pressure meds For those Females in their 40s who have lost at least 20LBs or higher.. Hello everyone my name is Cindy and I recently let myself gain 30 lbs. but than I lost 10 lbs. and I have 20 to go to get to my pre middle aged I have given up weight, but I figure why stop there! I enjoy food, as a matter of fact there isn’t a food I’ve found that I haven’t enjoyed, although like most people I have my favorites. So I figure if I have to learn to discipline myself for achieving a goal I badly want I might as well go balls to the wall and try to achieve the body of my 20’s instead of my 30’s. I figure I may as well go hard or go home, so I’m actually shooting for about 106 lbs. I’m 5’1’’ or 61 cm. For reference, and I have always had a muscular but hourglass shape, I have a lot of strengths for my size and stature and gaining muscle is the easier part of my healthy lifestyle, staying away from sugar is the downfall. I grew up from birth to age 13 very restrictive household due to my mothers beliefs about children with severe ADHD and eating sugar, so I always planned to eat what ever I wanted when I grew up, and that’s precisely what I’ve done. (Not the growing up part the gorging on sugar, and doing whatever I got comfort from! Unfortunately, I learned the hard way, that although gelato is Deeeeeelucoius it doesn’t make me like being naked, and personally I like feeling comfortable naked. I can see now that what I put in is what I get out. And my body has served me well in my life so I don’t want to mistreat it. It’s not always beautiful but it’s sturdy and quite healthy despite all the things I’ve put it through. So I’m happy to find this group! Personally it’s always been hard for me to make friends. I’ve had the same little group of friends for my entire life almost and it’s hard for me to want to try to make more when it’s just not my comfort zone, but I have also learned in life that usually the things that are worth something ain’t comfortable. I also learned how boring comfortable is at times and why it’s better to have some balls and self discipline than comfort. It’s very sneaky and overrated that damn comfort! So hello there everyone, I’m sorry I think i already started to rattle on, and on and on. I apologize, I can be very verbal at times so please excuse my awkwardness. I wish everyone the best of self discipline since I don’t believe in luck! I think that we can do anything as long as we know what to do and are CONSISTENT no matter what! Nice to meet all of you! [6

I'm 55, been in menopause for 5 years. I lost 80 pounds last year, and I am in maintenance now. You can absolutely do this if you want it.3 -
Good morning, everyone. @WorkingonME80 how are you going so far?
This appears to be a great thread, I have read all the comments and this seems like a group for me. I am very nervous typing this message but I NEED accountability. Accountability needs to be my best friend, I am very envious of people who once they put their mind to something (like weight loss) they are determined and achieve their outcome.
I am in my mid 40s, tired, sore, overweight, not confident and stiff from a lack of flexibility. Hmmm reading that sounds awful . I enrolled in MFP premium a few days ago and find it very helpful so far.
Anyway, please let me know if we can help each other5 -
Hi 👋 nervous as heck to post this but I need help. Almost 52 and probably need to lose 50-60 pounds. Not sure yet as I’m too scared to weigh myself. Been post menopausal for about 2 years now. While going through peri menopause I also went through some trauma and a heart wrenching divorce so my cortisol levels were pretty high. I’ve been slowly gaining for a few years but seemed to really put on a lot the past year. It hurts to see myself in a mirror in public. Mentally I’m feeling good so now it’s time to tackle my physical health. My daughter graduates this year and I dont want to hate every single photo of me.3

Hello! I turned 40 in August of 2023. I am interested in joining. I know I could benefit from the support. I do not have any specific number to pounds to lose. I just want my forties to be my Fit Era by putting into places great healthy, nutrition and fitness routines. I know by putting in the systems, the results will take care of itself.1

I hit 300.2 for the first time this last week. I need ankle surgery and in the past I think I kept my weight from going up by getting steps in but in last year it is not happening and I have gained close to 30 pounds. I really for once in my life get down to something comfortable. If I could even hit 220 I would feel great. I am great at supporting people but hard time holding myself to what I need to do.
If you feel like supporting each other I would love more friends.1 -
Hi! Turning 41 this month... Always yo-yo'd. Had a 3 year streak here until last Thanksgiving. My clothes don't fit now. Funny how quick the weight comes on when I don't track. My mom's health is not so great either... It's like a glimpse into the future. Better to take charge now then pay the price later.2

I’d love to join you ladies. I’ve never had issues with weight until this last year where I’ve gained 20 pounds. Yikes.0

47 and I'd like to lose 15-20 pounds, very short and tired of looking very chubby. But most importantly, I want to feel better and have more energy. Haven't drank any alcohol since December but I need to cut out the junk food and excessive snacking and I need to implement a consistent exercise routine. Easier said than done...0

41 5’1 sw 165 cw 158 gw 115 I haven’t been 115 lbs as an adult ever so I’d like to get there and see how I feel about it and possibly settle a tad higher if that’s hard to maintain. I was in a bit of denial about how much I had gained back until thanksgiving family pics🫣 I have two boys 12 & 14. I work an office job so I got a walking pad and have been trying to walk 1-2 hrs each work day if I can.2

Hi there! I'm 41, and going through similar with my own Mom. I want to ensure that I don't suffer significant decline in older age, and also not prematurely! My current goal is to lose 75 lbs, but could lose up to 100 and still be within healthy range. I'm also looking for accountability partners! Feel free to add me and/or reach out0

Hello
I’m turning 47 this month. I don’t have a ton of weight to lose but over the last several years my diet has become absolutely horrible. I’m tired all the time and at the end of a work shift my body hurts. I feel like my body is aging faster than needs to. I’m determined to get my nutrition, exercise , and self care in check this year.0 -
Im in if anyone wants to add me?
Similar scenario as original post.0 -
