Bike to steps ratio not being included

Day 3 here so getting used to site. Today I did 40 mins of moderate stationary exercise bike, which applied to site via Google Fit. According to this conversion chart, a 60 minutes bicycle ride with an average speed of 10mph is equivalent to 133 * 60 = about 8000 steps.
Easy (10 mph) — 133 steps/minute.
Moderate (13 mph) — 178 steps/minute.
Vigorous (15 mph) — 222 steps/minute.

40 mins X 178 steps = 7120, BUT this site says 1040 steps???? Why????

Why would you want that? You cycled and nor walked. Different movement, different use of myscles. Why not lig as very slow cycling?

Didn't know you could change the steps daily goal to something different... Thankyou. Off to suss it out.

No, but walking is not cycling. Thus if you're cycling instead of walking then just log as cycling. I mean, the daily step goal is just a somewhat arbitrary goal to get people moving. You're moving, thus ignore the steps. Or walk in addition.

That stationary bike to steps conversion came from Google, yet Google Fit & this site say different. Weird. Might just ignore daily steps.

Checked in profile for daily steps. Can't change the activity except adjust amount of steps, sync a step tracker or turn daily steps off.

    That's what I was thinking - ignore steps. 👍
