    Do you have a smartphone that you always have with you? Apple automatically counts steps in the Health app if you've not disabled it. Not sure about Android but there might be something similar. And there are certainly apps that do this for you. A simple fitness tracker is of course an option as well.

    I have a dumb pedometer because I don't carry my phone all day and don't wear a watch. I enter steps in the "check in" section manually, I created the new measurment. Old school but then I'm old.

    i wear a fitness tracker. many brands, like fitbit and garmin, can be paired with MFP.
