Im sure this is a no-brainer for a lot of people, but Im having a difficult time. Any suggestions are welcomed!
I work a job during the day where I rarely get a "lunch" break. Needless to say, I often go all day without eating and then gorge when I get home. Any ideas for inexpensive food that I can bring along to munch on through the day that will not throw my calories and sodium through the roof AND will keep me satisfied??
Thanks so much!!

Keep a fruit bowl on your desk and bring a snack bag with almonds. You can munch all day. Apples have lots of great fiber and not a whole lot of calories. Try different kinds.

I like Kashi bars. The protein curbs my hunger!

Premier Nutrition - Protein Bars (Costco)
    Yoplait light yogurt
    Almonds (in moderation)
    A piece of fruit
Munchie veggies...my favorite is Sweet Mini Peppers by Sun World (another product of costco)
They give you that crunch factor and are delicious!~

    grapes
    baby carrots
    nuts
    dried fruit
    trail mix
    yogurt
    Lara bars
    bananas
  • I am in a similar situation, I take mini tomatoes, mini cucumbers, mushrooms, baby carrots, and raw almond (I only get 12 of those). That is lunch with a ready to serve protein shake from Costco. I snack on fruit mid morning and mid afternoon, as I do better when I graze and don't let myslef get too hungery.

I eat a snack called Cranberry Bliss that I buy at BJ's. I think it is very filling, but kind of high in calories. It is craisins, yogurt covered raisins, almonds, peanuts, raisins and cashews. I love it! A quarter cup is is 140 calories. I also find yogurt to be very filling. I like the vanilla Danon light and fit. It is only 70 calories and it fills me up and takes away my craving for sweets.
