Hi, I'm Janine! I'm 41 years old. I started using this app in 2019 and at the time I weighed 167lbs. I got down to 148lbs, and time got away from me. I stopped using the app. Long story short, busy life, lots of kids, fulltime job etc....in December of 2023 I started to notice my pants getting tight. I then realized I slowly...very slowly...over a course of 5 years, got up to 188lbs. I have been back on track with eating healthy, using the app and working out 5-7 days. Now after 6 weeks I am down to 175 and the pants are feeling better. My first goal is to get into the 160's. I need to focus on maintaining once I get there and to continuing to live a healthier and more mindful life!

Tell me about you and your goals.

    Hi Janine.

I've been here quite a while and have been maintaining. One of my goals is to keep maintaining in a fairly wide range (about a tend pound range), although I'm never really sure that my range is the right one. It's a work in progress. Another is to maintain fitness so I can enjoy the activities I love like spending days on rivers or hiking in forests.

Congratulations on the initial loss as a returner. I hope you can find some good habits that you can adopt so you don't have to lose again and can just do the very hard job of maintaining.

Hi Janine! I’m also 40 something and attempting to lose weight after a few years of getting off my exercise routine and healthy eating. I began getting back into working out in early December. My starting weight was 165 and am down to 154. I am finding now it has to be both diet and exercise. When I was younger, that wasn’t the case. It’s definitely different and more challenging now, but I’m determined to get fit. My goal weight is 140ish, most importantly 23ish%BF. I’m at 29% now.

If you're looking for a place to share your successes and frustrations and maybe bounce ideas off other like-minded folks, you might check out a group here that I participate in. It's called "Lose 1 Pound a Week and Keep it Off." It's a private group, so you have to request to join, but you'll be approved.

We have only two requirements. First, list your starting weight and your goal weights for the end of the four quarters. The second is to post a weighing-in once a week. Post any day of the week, but the due date is Monday nights.

We have some ongoing challenges that are totally optional, and we try to have some fun "special" challenges that last a week or two.

Check it out if it interests you.
