Hello, can anyone recommend a good HRM model. I am not loooking for anything too complicated, just something for me to keep track of calories burnt during my walks etc. I was looking at a Polar FT2 as it looks like it is easy to use. Anybody recommend it? Thanks

I just purchased the polar ft4, and I love it. The strap is comfy, it does exactly what I need it to do.
  • I bought a polar f6 from eBay a while ago, it's great, I love it.

Thanks a million, will check eBay out :)
  • you may also want to consider a gps watch with hrm if you do walking and want to record distance and/or pace.

Thanks, I have an iphone so will have a look at the apps, are they accurate though? I always have my phone with me when i walk so this would be the easiest (and cheapist) option. thanks

I have android, so not 100% sure if all the same apps are there for iphone.Regarding cheststraps, I know of Polar Wearlink and Zephyr HxM and BioHarness. You just buy them separately. Regarding android apps, Cardiotrainer (works with Polar only) and Sportstracker by STL (Polar and Zephyr) have good opinions, but there are more that I don't know too well. I heard Endomondo doesn't use HRM data for calorie calculation - but it is so bizarre, that it's hard for me to believe it and I need to check it somehow. The apps that use HRM data should be accurate.
