Not the one at the gym, but the one that is apparently in my closet as that's the smell emitting from there (where my hamper lives). Between my workout clothes and my husbands it is pretty bad, but we definitely don't go through enough to wash daily. What do you do to keep your house from smelling like a locker room?

Buy a box of cheap, scented fabric softener sheets and throw a couple in your hamper every now and then. :) That should keep things smelling nice in between laundry days.

I try to get my stuff in the wash as quickly as possible - I've ruined more than 1 good shirt by letting it sit with dirt and sweat and grime and whatever other gunk I pick up during a workout. However...

If my clothes are really nasty, and I know it's going to be a day or 2 before I wash them, I'll hang them in the garage. Once they dry, there is no noticeable smell... and I don't care if my garage smells for a couple of hours. But the bottom line is giving them a change to dry out is key.

Also, try rinsing them in the sink if you have the time.

I throw the used dryer sheets in the hamper. That works well.

I'd start by moving that hamper full of dirty laundry away from the clean clothes hanging in the closet. Can you move it to the bathroom or laundry room? Just a suggestion, but I am curious as to what ideas others might have. :flowerforyou:

I would start with getting my gym clothes out of the closet. Have a laudry bag or hamper in the laundry room or another area. It works for us.

My husband an I keep our stinky workout clothes in the laundry room on top of the dryer until they are washed. I like to keep only clean clothes in my closet. Another idea is buy "Damp Rid" for your closet. There is a form of it that hangs up and collects extra moisture. That's kept our house smelling fresh. We live in Florida where there is hugh humidity. :)

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I don't use dryer sheets (the oils in dryer sheets and fabric softners make me break out) and there isn't enough room in our laundry room for anything else, our house is layed out with the closet off of the bathroom. However, maybe we could just throw them in the laundry room on top of the dryer or hang them over the tub (we have a seperate shower) to dry out. All awesome suggestions!
