Hi! I don't think I've ever posted in here but when I was younger I was on Weight Watchers and I found the message boards there helpful. I am hoping to find something similar here.
I'm 45/f in New England. I am a high school librarian, hiker, crazy cat lady, National Park fanatic, crocheter/knitter, wannabe gardener.
I want to lose about 50 pounds and then we'll see how I feel from there. I struggle with motivation, especially in the winter months. In warmer weather I'm always out walking and hiking but in the winter I tend to want to stay inside and read or knit.
I also struggle with meal planning. Every Sunday my plan is to make a plan and prep for the week. It's very do-able, or it should be! My husband and I don't have kids and he's very supportive. I think I get intimidated by how much protein I'm supposed to have every day according to my macros and I want to give up. But I'm here, and I'm going to give it another try, because I know the results will be totally worth it!

I can imagine that hiking in New England in the winter is challenging indeed! Can you do any XC skiing? I'm fortunate that we have mild enough weather I can hike all year. The winter is rainy, so there's plenty of mud, but there's also fewer people.
If you are less active in the winter, you just have to adjust your calorie allowance down to match your activity. Or find something you enjoy doing.0 -
We're having a decidedly non-snowy winter! But I do take walks when it's not super cold, or I do indoor workouts.0
