Success of the week: Got out for a nice hike up a local trail to a ridge and up to a meadow at the top. The next day got out to paddle a local river, and one time I looked up through a clearing and saw a meadow way up high on a ridge and said, "Hey - I was right there yesterday." I continued improving my strength workouts. I even sneaked in a swim I wasn't planning because the pool was practically empty. Finished pruning fruit trees and finished getting the branches loaded in the green waste cart to be turned into compost. Still maintaining near the middle of my range!
Struggle of the week: Not the best food choices over the weekend, and partially undid some of the hard work from the past month.

We were away last week – 4 nights dinner and breakfast in a hotel, with a day of travelling home on Friday, 5 hours sitting in a coach. Saturday weigh- in was 51 kg, water weight dropping off, getting back into the routines straight away.

Feb. 5: 116.6
Struggle: I discovered why my weight has been fluctuating so much. One day last week I got on the scale wearing the same thing I wore the day before, at the same time of day, right after breakfast which is about the same thing every day and there was a four lb difference. That couldn't be right. I had a heavy box and put it on the scale. I took it off and, in a few minutes, tried again. It showed a four lb difference. I got a new one and was reading the direction and they said not to wiggle because it needs to calibrate. It got me thinking. I pull the scale out of the closet and weigh myself. Maybe all the moving of the scale messes with the calibration. So, I am leaving it out, not moving it, and trying it for a couple more days and see if it is better.
Success and struggle: My weight has stayed the same for three days. The struggle part is that it is still 1 1/2 lbs over goal. It could be a difference in scales and my weight has been higher all along. It doesn't matter. I am going to aim for 115 and see what happens.

Success/Struggles: My biggest success has been in getting over 300 minutes of physical activity, which has been hampered by an arthritic ankle. I’m doing recumbent stationary biking, which has been very helpful and low impact. I’m thinking carefully about how involved I want to remain in WW where I lost the weight. It’s why I’m here— to see what a transition to calories looks like for me. WW does a poor job with helping people maintain and has really messed with lifetime membership as they adjust during their financial struggles.1 -

Success of the week: I took my first outdoor run, just to run, in a long long time. It was slow, but I "ran" 5K without stopping. Met a recently retired friend for our first hike. Had a couple good sessions in the gym. I made three different kinds of soup - all quite tasty. Still maintaining, but closer to the top of my range.
Struggle of the week: I had a couple days when I ate far more than I should and not the best food choices. It's OK. Back on track now.

Successes/struggles of the week: Have been busy the past couple of weeks, but nothing much to report. I have a lot of sweet ingredients that I use for baking that will unfortunately be expiring in the next couple of months, so I'm going to be making a lot of baked goods with them to use them up. Will give a lot of them away to friends, but I'll be enjoying them as well, so hopefully that doesn't hinder my progress..0 -

My weight is back within preferred range following our short break a couple of weeks ago. The trend weight is up because of the spike after the holiday but it was mainly travel weight.
Now that I’m retired I rarely sit for more than an hour at a time, so even a few hours in a coach has an effect. Even when I’m not actively “exercising” I’m usually pottering about all day.

Struggle: Well, now that I discovered that moving my scale just before using it was messing with it's calibrations, I found that now that I have too scales, they don't come up with the same weight. There is only a 1/2 lb difference but it is frustrating to me. I am going to have to settle on one and live with it. It really isn't that important but I like that that I thought that my scale was accurate.
Success: I'm not gaining and I haven't gone way off my target which, BTW, I have in the past.

Success of the week: I am still making soup. This week I made one I have never made before - cashew, carrot, ginger. I will make it again. Gave myself permission to join friends out for a taco after we paddled a local river. Hiked with my recently-retired friend again, and it could be a weekly thing for a while. Still maintaining in my ideal range even if it's close to the top of the range.

Sucesses/strugggles:
I’m reporting my Sunday morning weigh-in as I was not at home on Monday or Tuesday mornings.
I have been at my daughter’s taking the grandchildren out for the day as she had to work and the kids had a day off school. We had a good time and I ate with the family on Sunday and Monday evenings.
I’m going to be out for the day on Wednesday lunch and dinner out, but 49 kg is at the lower end of my maintenance range so there is room for indulgence.

Successes/struggles of the week: It was an indulgent week/weekend, and that was reflected on the scales..but I did get in a good 20k step day one day. I also made some progress with workouts, going up in weights with a couple of exercises.0 -

Success of the week: A great hike with a friend in the Coast Range and an AMAZING hike among ten large waterfalls in the Cascade foothills.

Struggles:
I had a busy week last week – a couple of nights with my daughter, a day out at the theatre, meeting with two separate groups of friends on Thursday, and evening out Friday. Struggled with healthy eating at my daughters’ and had a Chinese buffet on Wednesday evening after our day out.
Successes: Lots of exercise one way and another – including dancing on Friday evening!
Minimal weight gain in spite of eating out a lot.
