Okay....so when I get stressed out.....I eat. A lot. Of bad things..... :( I need to figure something else out to do instead of eat....suggestions???

    remove the temptations from you house and replace with healthier choices

    Push-ups. That will knock the stress and cravings right out of you, lol.

    buy a punching bag and beat it up youll burn ALOT of cals and get your aggression out and stress

    write down everything.... as in what is stressing you, what are your thoughts on it, what do you have to accomplish to make the stress stop.. that way you focus on making the stress go away instead of eating... and no I dont think this is easy to do, its actually very hard, but if you can it will help

    I do the same thing, and right now I am dealing with a lot of stress. But this time I am determined to change my old habits.
    So for me I try to get out for a good brisk walk, it is good for my physically as well as gives me time to clear my head and refocus on what is important!

    Here are some ideas off the top of my head.
    Only keep healthy options around you.
    Go for a walk.
    Chew gum/ brush your teeth/ use mouthwash - these will make eating something less appealing since nothing really tastes good with toothpaste flavor.
    Pop some bubble wrap.
    Log on to MFP and read a few success stories.
    Best of luck to you! I do the same thing with stress, or if I am disorganized and don't know what to do with myself, the fridge always seems to be the first place I look - Perhaps I should keep my to do list in there......

    keep some trail mix around with a lot of nuts and dried fruit and a few chocolate chips - i keep a bowl on my desk and a small bag in my backpack or purse - and it really helps to snack on that instead; nuts fill you up fast and also help improve your mood!
  • Push-ups. That will knock the stress and cravings right out of you, lol.

    I do something like push-ups or Swimmer's presses with dumbbells when I stress out - I also keep baby carrots in the house because I can "munch" them when stressed without guilt and they are crunchy so it solves that little "chip" desire sometimes

    I either keep myself busy or sleep!! Both work and I'm not eating junk

    I honestly agree, Do not let the stress to cause you to be tempted. We Have Remove anything from our lives that will make us stumble. Healthy Journey!!

    Walk - think about the things that are stressing you as you walk. (Just make sure you are walking in a safe place in case you get distracted.)

    Imagine yourself taking those things and 'filing' them away. For real - visualize whatever it is as a file folder with the name of the person or situation at the top.
  • Lots of good options have already been mentioned, but what is the cause of your stress and can you do something to eliminate that, or can you talk to someone that will help you work through it before you reach for the junk food?
