A lot of it is going to depend where you're starting from, which you don't say. If your bf % is 20% or above, and I'm assuming male from your username, then a calorie deficit will start your journey. You don't need any specific nutrition advice for that, just take in fewer calories than you burn, until you're down to below 15% maybe. Then you'll want to cut out cheat meals and cheat days, and start being even more diligent with your nutrition to shave a few more % off your bodyfat.

In the meantime, yes training the abs will help too. I would assume since you're looking for hypertrophy gains not strength gains, then higher reps (15-20 say) is better here since it will enable you to do more volume. JMO.

For abs you ned low bodyfat and to actually have abs developed enough to see em once you lean out. This is a question of genetics as some people have a good natural ab structure and some don't so the latter needs to work on development first.

Is it better to go super slow and heavy weight like cable crunches or high rep low weight high sets for abs? Thanks for the reply

Doesn't matter high protein-low carb, high carb-moderate protein, no carb-all protein/fat. What matters is eating fewer calories than you burn through living and moving. You want to have adequate protein for muscle synthesis, especially for a lifter like yourself (based on your avatar pic), but you can get away with .75g protein/lb of BW, no need to go double your weight in protein or anything crazy.
