Thyroid Condition, Super hard losing weight

Hey all, I'm not exactly new, but am returning, and needed to know if anyone knows anything that would make weight loss easier with a thyroid condition, and taking meds for it that cause weight gain. I'm on b12 to promote weight loss by my Dr. and although I eat healthy and exercise daily, I have GAINED weight steadily in the last 2 years. Please tell me this is not a lost cause! Thanks so much!!

Possible to get a second opinion about your meds or possibly the condition has changed since you were prescribed them? I hear this is a difficult condition to diagnose and treat>0

Dear kittiekatk,
All is not lost, maybe get a second opinion on your meds, i have under active thyroid, and take 150mg of eltroxin per day, it took almost 2 years to get the dose right
I gave up on the GP's being able to treat me properly and went to an specialist ( can't spell the correct name), he advised reducing my dairy intake, and take supplements, Kelp & vitamin e,
At the age of 41 I worked hard and lost 40lb in 6 months, I then got lazy and complacent and put it all back on again, so here i am at 43 on MFP taking things slower this time but have lost 15lb in 8 weeks.

Thanks all for the reply's!! I am on Levothyroxine, .05mcg daily, and amazingly it was the "right dose" from the get go. Sometimes I wish I was a dr.....I do wonder what would happen if I just stopped taking it! Everything I read is almost all bad, and my dr says there are no alternatives at the moment in my area (???) so she started my on 1000mcg of B12 daily, which is NOT helping at all.....anyone know any more about Levothyroxine?0
