Coffee creamer!

Hey I'm trying to clean up my eating. I was wondering if anyone has suggestions on a healthy way to have coffee. Other than black coffee I like flavor in my coffee. I currently use coffee mate creamer but am wondering if there is a healthier way to have coffee.

Plain oatmeal or almond coffee creamer is the real deal. :)

I use the Coffee Mate liquid creamer. What I found was I get nearly 3x the number of servings from a bottle than the label says, which means the daily calories end up as little more than noise. So perhaps try to reduce your serving size? Or CM has low-fat options.

I like flavor in my coffee - coffee flavor! I buy high-quality beans, grind immediately before use, use about 25 or 26 grams of beans to make a 15 or 16 ounce cup, and do a single-cup pour-over.

I have found that I don't need to add anything else. I used to use half & half. After that I used a coconut creamer that was pretty low calorie. I even used to use sugar or honey years ago, but I stopped that long before giving up half & half or creamer. It took a little getting used to, but I no longer like pollutants in my coffee at all! My oral hygienist tells me that not polluting your coffee means you have less time in the chair when you go visit, so that's just a bonus.

Get good coffee; then you don't need anything else.

You could try buying flavored coffee, and maybe try almond or oat milk for the creamer?

I used to be a coffee creamer addict, but now flavored coffee or just a good regular coffee with a tiny bit of sugar(sometimes I’ll use Splenda or something) and unsweetened vanilla almond milk is my go to. It’s NOT as good as the yummy flavored creamers, but it’s a good alternative and I feel much better.

I like creamer on occasion too but it's probably pretty bad stuff under the hood. Regular milk is a better option if you are happy to have dairy. Creamer was designed to simulate the mouthfeel of milk but for some people the synthetic version become the norm.

Did you know butter is made from cream? When my husband gave up creamer we went to 1-2 T butter in our coffee and whizzed up with a frother. On "special" days I add a touch of heavy cream and 1 packet of LMNT chocolate. A great way to get in my electrolytes, as well as have a treat! But, most of the time for me it's just butter. Also look up egg coffee (yes it's a thing, and yes, it's really good!)

I love freshly made almond milk. I like to blend 8oz of (soaked) raw almonds with 3 cups of water, add a date or two, a hint of vanilla, and squeeze through a cheesecloth... it is the best! If I'm at work and can't get to my fresh, raw almond milk, I grab a vanilla Muscle Milk, protein shake and use a little of it.
