Now that I am an adult I have way more important things to worry about than what certain people think about me...but today I had a girl that I know (not in a positive way at all) call me FAT as if it were an insult...now I can understand when you are young and another child picks on you because of weight or another imperfection that it is hurtful...I can recall many times growing up being called names and made fun of and going home crying and upset as Im sure some of you were also because as children we aren't able to understand that just because you look a certain way doesn't make you are less of a person...but now I find myself thinking...why is that even considered an insult at all? Like...I look in the mirror everyday...I know I am overweight so why feel the need to tell me?
It really just makes this other person look incredibly immature and stupid...and honestly flatters me that it was the only thing they could think of to say about me...I mean...if the only thing someone can come up with to try to insult me is to tell me something I've known for years than I must be doing pretty damn good...also considering the fact that I could say so much more about this person like the fact that they are such a ****ty person that no one wants anything to do with them once they get to know them...I mean beauty is not only defined by what one projects outwardly...if you are a good person, are positive...kind and caring towards others than thats beautiful...if you are mean hearted, spiteful and just an all around mean and hateful person than thats uglier to me than any outer imperfection....
My main reason for posting this was really to vent because arguing with this person is just not even worth my time at this point...and also because normally I would let a comment like that really bother me and for the first time I was really just like...uhhhh and?????....but I also hope that to those that read this that may have been called a name or insulted because of being overweight...try to understand that these people who do that are small minded, immature and definitely wont ever be as successful as you already are...one of my fav quotes is this "I'd rather be fat than ugly...because I can ALWAYS lose the weight".
I want to wish everyone much continued success on your journey to a healthier and happier you!

Pardon my French, Kristin, for what I am about to say, but you are pretty damn hot in my book! I think that girl is cuckoo for cocoa puffs, putting it NICELY. My daughters gets remarks like that all the time, it really bothers them and me. Why can't people like people for WHO they are and not judge on appearance?0
-
I hope you said that to her, ".....................and?" that would be great! I am sorry for you having to hear such negative words.

Nice post sometimes people take a longer time to grow up. She seems pretty insecure about herself I wonder why lol0

Another come back for that is ......"well done genius, how long did it take you to figure that out."
Good for you for using the comment positively.0 -
haha you guys are cracking me up yeah this person is extremely negative and VERY insecure thats why all they can do is try and hurt other people all the time...I actually didnt even respond or give this person the time of day because the comment was made in a sort of subliminal way but they made sure I knew they were talking about me...another reason why I really have to laugh at all of it like if you really have something to say about me SAY IT TO MY FACE, this person is just a scared little coward with no hope of ever achieving whatever goals and dreams they have set for their life because the negativity will ALWAYS drag them right back down to the bottom...maybe thats just where they need to be...whats going to be SO hilarious is when karma comes around and bites them when they see me a ways down the road after I've reached my weight loss goals and am completely BLAZING inside and out and they are still that poor scared ugly little person...its just sad to me
thanks for all the love you guys!!! 0 -
Love your attitude, and you know what? If being "fat" is what she sees about you, you are so ahead of the game. If it's something that bothers YOU, you can change it. But an attitude like this persons, well, they need more than a treadmill and healthy food choices to help them out. Years of psychiatric help probably wouldn't put a dent in someone that small minded. I would have said "thank you for pointing out something that at least I can CHANGE, so much better than having a rude personality that seems to be inbred".
You are awesome and a big person in all the right places
Keep up the attitude and the encouragement for us. You are so BEAUTIFUL (I would kill for your eyes). 0 -
I can totally relate.
My brother's nickname for me growing up was 'Shamu.' It really hurt, but I never did anything to try to change my physical appearance.
Members of my dad's family (mainly grandmother and grandfather) always told me that I would never be as thin as my Aunt Irene (gymnast and life-long athlete). Of course, I never said anything because that was my dad's parents.
Now that I've been busting my a** at getting in shape, I have heard nothing but positive feedback from everybody (especially my brother and grandparents).
That girl can take a long walk off a short pier!!0 -
awww thank you guys...yeah people have picked on me my whole life for being overweight to the point where now Im like...can we come up with something else to talk about for reals cuz its boring me...i eventually just started making fun of myself as a sort of defense mechanism to try and help people to understand how little being called fat effects me...but now that I am doing something about my weight and health I just laugh even harder at these haters because eventually they wont be able to call me fat anymore and then what are they going to try and say????
and yeah this girl needs SERIOUS psychiatric help....she has hated me ever since I started dating her ex...she didn't understand how he could want to be with me because of my size...she thinks just cuz shes not as big as me that somehow means she has more to offer in a relationship then I do but in reality if you are a psycho mean person NO ONE is going to want anything to do with you regardless of how you look on the outside...and my boyfriend and I have been happily together for 2 years now so obviously the weight isn't an issue...0 -
well that changes EVERYTHING!!! She still has feelings for "dude" and you are a homewrecker! (in her eyes, LOL)
If there is a way to cut her out of your daily life, I would... she won't go away, like gum on your shoe. I can see why "dude" dumped her for YOU. Jealousy brings out the ugly in people... good job for recognizing it and rising above!0 -
Oh she lives in another state so cutting her out of my daily life is easy...shes just dumb and saw me post something on a mutual friends facebook and assumed I was referring to her so she made some comments about me being fat...ick...just typing this I feel SOOOOOOO high school but I just thought it was so funny that she thought calling me that would affect me...like I started to let it bother me for like half a second but then I thought wait a minute...who cares????...yeah we tried being friends but its honestly just a conflict of interest as long as my boyfriend and I are still happily together...she just cant stand the fact that someone would choose me over her...makes me wanna tell her "well newsflash sweetcheeks just cuz I am fat doesn't mean I suck at life which you in fact do"...0
