Quitting smoking can cause weight gain through a slower metabolism, increased snacking...
CBD oil, according to Google, is more likely to cause weight loss due to a reduced appetite, although an increased appetite is mentioned here and there, for some people.

Gaining 30lbs is the equivalent of around 290 calories per day above maintenance.

Unless you’re guzzling multiple bottles of oil every day, it’s not the CBD.

It ain't the CBD oil. Are you counting your calories or just guessing?

Not the CBD oil. You have been consistently eating more energy than you use in a day for an extended period of time. Start counting your calories.

I took CBD for a while. It didn't affect my weight. Lietchi's right: Unless you're taking 290 calories of CBD daily, it's not the CBD as such.

I didn't calorie count until I was 59. Not counting - and not managing my calorie intake sensibly in any other way - got me overweight then obese, then I stayed obese for another dozen years after adding a vigorous exercise schedule. Calorie counting got me from class 1 obese to a healthy weight in just under a year, and has kept me in the healthy range for nearly 8 years since.

Calorie counting isn't the only way to lose weight, but it's one quite direct (and logistically simple) method (. . . though not necessarily psychologically easy every single second). Eating less in calorie terms (or moving lots more without eating more) is the answer, IMO.

    Best wishes!

@Lietchi I appreciate your time.I think quitting cigarette affected my weight gain like you said. But also I wasn’t mindful about how much carb and sweets I eat a day.

regarding quitting smoking - very typical to have a temporary increased appetite and weight gain - tends to resolve within 6 months for most people.

it is good to start tackling sweets and stress - when quitting smoking, basically we have to relearn how to live life without using cigarettes - nor sweets - and for me this meant....
-- let go of the old 'go to' things like cigarettes and sweets
-- plus embrace new to me 'non-food' and 'non-nicotine' things that help me emotionally plus help my body; build a toolkit of solutions - like laugh tv, hot bubble baths, good physical exercise to stimulate good moods and strengthen body... and things that are mentally strengthening - we CAN do this! things like chatting here. Reading articles on things to learn and explore.... each of us is different so explore what works for you instead of sweets & nicotine! Best!
