Back on MFP after screwing up for a few months

I initially joined MFP several months ago and had quick and encouraging amounts of success... I lost around 20 pounds in less than two months. It was great! I thought I could keep going and doing well without this tool, and I was totally wrong. I have been under tremendous stress and have had very little down time. I also returned to life as an omnivore after spending a year and a half as a vegetarian. I managed to not only gain everything back, but to surpass my previous top weight by 10 pounds. I hate feeling like such a failure, so I have to fix it. I am encouraged by the great success I've seen in friends who are part of this site, and who joined at the same time I originally did or even later. I am disappointed in myself as I too could have lost 30, 40, 50 or more pounds by now. I took a few steps back instead of going forward, and it's now time to get my *kitten* in gear and take responsibility for my health and happiness. My current goal is to lose 143 pounds. See you in the success stories thread ASAP.

Same here. Due to life circumstances I am living with a friend. Her home is carb, unhealthy food and eating habits central. I also started a new job and just can't get to the gym as much, and had stopped using MyFitnessPal. After avoiding it, I stepped on the scale and had gained back 11 of the 57 pounds I had lost initially. Once upon a time I would have gotten depressed, but not this time. I went to the grocery store so I had healthy options for meals for myself, especially if I work late and am committed to getting back into a routine of exercising regularly, for whatever time I can fit in, but doing something and I started logging my food and exercise on here again. Day two in and I'm starting to feel more energy and feel better, that's enough to keep me going. I've promised myself a massage when I take the 11 lbs off again. Find what motivates you, treat yourself kindly and take it one day at a time.0
