I see the weight go down, but I don't feel like I've lost.

Has anyone else experienced this?
About 80% of the time, I question whether or not my scale is correct (I don't feel like I've lost that much weight). Right now, it varies from 168lbs - 171lbs. It just seems really drastic that I've managed to lose 17lbs in a little less than a month, so I have a hard time believing the scale.
I look at myself in the mirror and, I can tell I've lost weight, but I just don't feel likve I've lost THAT much. Maybe 10lbs, but 17lbs? I want to invest in a new scale, but I don't have the money for it, right now.
I've been on here tracking like crazy; I've only gone above my calorie limit twice (first time was only by 19cal, second time was by 150cal). Otherwise, I usually have 50cal - 200cal leftover at the end of each day.
Does anyone else ever feel like this? I'm really discouraged, right now. If the scale is right, that would mean I'm at my lowest since, like...9th grade (2004). It just...doesn't seem right.

I started in February and I still feel that way now I think it takes a while for your brain to catch up0

if you cant afford a new scale can you go to local pharmacy spots centre of doctors and just use the scales there
just remember from now use the same scales wear similar clothes and go at same time of day0 -
I use two scales. One is for my official weigh in and is located at the gym I go to which is on a military base. It is a very sophisticated scale and tracks a lot of things based on height, weight, age, gender, etc. My scale at home is a simple Weight Watchers scale. They have pretty much been parallell with each other since I started losing weight. Maybe you just need another scale to justify your loss. Use a friend's scale perhaps or do like I do..and use one in a gym.
good luck.0 -
Let me guess... your calorie limit is 1200 and don't even eat that most days?
If your goals are set correctly (1/2 lb a week since you dont have much to lose) and you're exercising etc.. then I would be ecstatic with 17lbs in a month -- but its very extreme so it sounds more like you're starving yourself and just losing water weight.. That honeymoon period will go away and you'll stop losing if you do that for too long.0 -
Maybe it just seems to be "to good to be true"...but you know you're body...and if it looks like you've lost weight....then you have! And...if you don't trust your scale....just step onto a different one at different places every chance you get!!0

Actually, my limit was 1580cal. Right now, it's 1430cal. I eat from 1200cal to my limit. My goal is 1 1/2lbs per week and I've been avidly tracking. If I eat a teaspoon of peanut butter, it goes onto the list. I've never starved myself. Okay...I did once in high school for like...2 weeks so I could fit into a dress for a dance, but that was the only time. Otherwise, I eat. And 350cal come from whey protein.0 -
