Hi, My name's Torie, and it's been 2 hours since my last trip to starbucks.

I spend way too much money/calories at starbucks. Like I'm pretty sure I'm single-handedly keeping them in business. Who wants to quit with me? Cold turkey. I've been saying this, but I'm more likely to do it if I have something to hold me accountable.

OMG you are brave! I think I would wither away if I quit starbucks. lol Especially ever since I started making "skinny" drinks there (under 150 cal usually)...though I do have to say I spend WAY to much money on them. $5 a drink...oiy....no wonder I'm always broke, I spend all my money to get my starbucks fix!

I didn't have the money to go often in the first place, but...

...my name is Susan, and I support this message :) I'll help hold you accountable.

I was spending money at Java City.. I was a graduate student then and when I carefully reviewed my bank statement, it was $70 a month on an average which is CRAZY. I just started using my coffee maker at home, bought 2 different kinds of coffees and stayed under $70 for months to come.

It was difficult to stop it all at once but reducing the visits and going for healthier options started it for me :)

The best thing is you've realized what's going on! Good luck with your plan!

I quit Starbucks cold turkey on July 1st. I was a hopeless addict for 15 years. I spent anywhere from $10-$20 a DAY on Starbucks. If I can do it, I KNOW you guys can do it! The first week was very, very difficult, but after that it was super easy. You can do it!

I could never afford the caramel frap habit I was forming! I've started brewing my own coffee. For like $20-$25 you can buy a Mr. Coffee, a can of grounds, and some filters. I just put a splash of low fat milk and little bit of sugar in mine and the cals are decent. I will eventually ditch the sugar for stevia though...

PS it took a while to adjust to the bitter taste, but its really only in comparison to the jacked up sugar of a frap. in fact I can't drink coffee with too much sugar now, its TOO sweet!

Well... I can definitely see why you might want to give up Starbucks entirely, but what about another option? I still like going to Starbucks for the atmosphere and it's a nice place to meet friends or do some homework, but I started drinking tea instead of expensive coffee drinks. You pay a fraction of the price, get to enjoy the atmosphere, and unless you put something in the tea, it's 0 calories and some of your water ounces down for the day! Just a thought... :)

    I spend $2.50 and 50 calories a day there.

Grande iced coffee with soy milk, unsweet!

I could probably save money by just buying the packets they make now and put it in my water bottle which would be around $5 a week and 50 cals per packet.

    mvm.com, thank you =)

I bought a keurig a month ago, and I try to use that, but I'm so addicted to starbucks, especially since I work right next door to one. I spend too much on it, and I love pumpkin spice, which even the skinny version is, I do believe, close to 300 cals!

I cut down to 2 days a week this summer but I have changed my schedule and need to adjust again. I will eventually cut it out for good until I reach my goal weight. I have grande lattes no sugar. I also drink tea when I am there in the afternoon.

I've pretty much kicked Starbucks and I was highly addicted. I used to drink latte's like no tomorrow. Now, I drink purely decaf. I also hate seeing my calories going to liquids. So, I quit starbucks a few months ago...but technically I was just there with a friend from out of town and I ended up having an americano. That is quite the change from my lattes but much better for me...Good luck with your quitting! you can do it!
