Chin Splints suck!

Options
I started my daily walking and jogging a couple weeks ago and i noticed my chin bone(from my foot to my knees) were achy and sore All the time.Well i found out its chin splints( can BING it).I guess I should not go walking in my two year flip flops.I just recently started feeling less achy. I got new running shoes but im afraid this will happen again.

I went through the same thing and yeah they do suck! My doctor told me good shoes and don't run or walk on uneven surfaces eg the side of the road. I now walk/run on a treadmill and I don't get them at all. Good luck!!!

    shin splints *ftfy*

can be many things including vertical fracture of the shin bones, to stressed and tight shin muscles and ligaments.

Stretching and proper range of motion, with rest and foot/arch support helps prevent this. As does getting in shape safely. Stop running and get well soon.

I think you're doing it wrong if your chin hurts :p (darn, vegg beat me to it)

Make sure you warm up and stretch really good before, as well as stretch after really good after. Here are some examples of calf stretches

Also, check out how your feet are. Either by a doctor or if you are in the US, Dr. Scholls has a little kiosk that can help you find an insole. I have high arches and can't go anywhere without a good additional arch support in my shoe.

I used to suffer from shin splints. i'm shin splint free and running a marathon next week.

    1. get fit for a proper shoe.
    2. slow down
    3. work on your foot strike.

The title of this post made me literally laugh out loud as I pondered how a person would get "chin" splints.
