Find a good book, join a exercise group like pilates or yoga, join an intermural sport like volleyball or soccer, or find a craft you like to do like scrapbooking etc.
  • if you are giving up the TV to become more active, try joining the YMCA ... they have some sports that you may like to play. Or take up gardening... that's an awesome calorie burner. What's nice about the Y is most of them have an indoor pool for winter activities.

    Just a thought.
  • My husband and I read a lot. In fact we spend an hour or two before cuddled up in bed, quiet, and reading separate books. It's a great, relaxing way to spend time together without tv. I also knit, scrapbook, and draw. Sometimes we sit in the office while I paint and he plays music on his guitar. Or I paint by myself and listen to an audiobook.

Learn to knit, crochet or sew! Listen to an audio book or download your favorite podcasts or crank up the stereo.

Why less TV? I love TV, especially those documentaries on history, travel, space, and other stuff. Of course, my favorite myestery series.

I even watch QVC. Now call me addict!

Hey forgot you were new to the 303. Here are some other ideas.
Bike, walk, roller blade on Platte Canyon or Cherry Creek trails.

Take a hike in Roxburough state park http://www.everytrail.com/guide/south-rim-trail-at-roxborough-state-park (very pretty in October right now with the scrub oak changing) I can give you tons of other hike recommendations if you are looking for something specific.

There are some good haunted houses in Denver

In the summer City Park Jazz is cool. Rockies games are a lot of fun.

First Friday art walk on Santa Fe

At Christmas a Horse Carrage Ride to see the civic center lights is fun

Go to Cherry Creek State Park shooting range and shoot some stuff.

Denver Patio Ride, Comedy Works, Sing Sing & Lannies Clock Tower Caberet are always a good time

I would like to learn how to play piano, but without taking class with an instructor, it may still require me turn on the TV or video...
  • Play games with the kids, if you have any. Be on the computer? :) photography? Learn to make then sell hairbows? Shop online.
