All things in moderation. And it also depends on which kind..... but mostly moderation. ^_^

    Three cheers for will power......
  • i <3 ice cream. I eat it 3-4 times per month, I never keep a big container in the house because it gets too easy to make a habit, but it's fine to have as a treat for sure! I usually go all out and get the Haagen daz or actually go out for a specialty hard ice cream here in our city. :)

I don't think that hurts really.
But you gotta keep it to the minimum...
Or try to have it once a week in moderation!

    Good luck

The ONLY thing I'm not willing to give up!!
Skinny Cow...think I have almost every flavor in my freezer!
    Pam:tongue:
  • I have a lot of kids and a husband who loves ice cream... we have it in the house all the time. I eat it probably 3 or 4 times a week. I work my butt off at the gym (900+ calories burned daily), so I don't mind. This is real life. In real life, I didn't get fat because I don't like food. I got fat because I love to eat. I just cut down my portions, but I still eat what I like and exercise.

Skinny Cow makes some GREAT low calorie ice cream treats !! And they just came out with some candy that is low calorie for that time when you need a chocalote fix !! It is just a matter of just eating ONE !!!

I think once in a while is fine as long as it doesn't send you on a sugar binge. If I eat a little bit of sweetness I will be on a roll and want more. Im not strong enough yet so I stay away from sweets for now.

I totally don't think that ice cream once in a while will hurt you. When I started this weight loss journey, I knew that chocolate was something I could never give up completely. I found some ice cream bars at Walmart (Great Value Chocolate Fudge Sticks) that I will buy sometimes if I am craving ice cream and chocolate. You can't eat the entire box obviously but one is only 65 calories so I don't feel guilty if I eat one. I have done this for the past 9 months and have dropped 65 pounds so I guess it doesn't hurt too much. Good luck.

Nope, you should "indulge" every once in awhile - just no overindulge. Keeps one sane and happy.

I just looked this up...sounds delicious! I will have to try this soon. Which flavors have you tried and how would you say it compares to real ice cream?

Bad for what? Maybe if you are lactose intolerant. I eat ice cream every.single.day. Snickers ice cream bars. Just fit it in your macros and calories and make it work.

can you imagine an entire life without ice cream?....no...so go ahead and enjoy just dont over indulge.
  • We all have our indulgences. If you deny yourself what you want all the time you'll never be able to stick with it.

I have whatever I want whenever I want to as long as it fits within my calories....but sometimes I go over...but I agree moderation is the key.

Skinny Cow and Weight Watchers are in my freezer right now. I have an ice cream bar every night. I make sure I have the calories to eat them .. but honestly ... the WW Fudge snack bars are only 45 calories!!

OMG! That stuff is sold at my local Hyvee and I've NEVER heard of it. How is that possible??? Thanks for sharing the link. Now I need to go buy some!

Edit: This is exciting because I'm lactose intolerant and not a big fan of soy ice cream.

NewHope and Jocelynna, let me know if you get a chance to try it and what you think. The flavor is very subtle, however what I love so much is the texture, very creamy and similar to ice cream.
