I've been taking swim lessons. I started by refining my breast stroke, which was the only stroke I knew. Learning front crawl & backstroke as well. Swimming was always hard on my neck because my technique was all wrong, and so I wasn't able to swim for long. It's a totally different experience now and I love it. I enjoy that state of calm relaxation once I get into my rhythm, when all I focus on is the movement and my breathing and the way the water feels on my body.17

omg I bought a pair of jeans today. Not from a plus size store... not online... not from a discount store where I had to weed through rack after rack of random assorted clothes, and try on twenty pairs of cheaply made jeans, to find one that sort-of fits. Today I went to a real store in a real mall, where a real salesperson was very helpful in finding me a pair of regular size jeans that fits like a glove and looks great on me.32

It's just glorious, feeling lighter and not having to stop every few minutes when going uphill! Brings back great memories when I first lost the weight. Heck, I still love that feeling now, even if the novelty has worn off 🙂14 -
Walking back to the office after going for a walk at lunch time when I crossed paths with another worker - someone who I don’t know particularly well. After saying hi he asked if I had lost some weight ‘because you’re looking great and fit enough to kick peoples *kitten*’ which blew me away. He then asked how I had done it ‘because he’s wanting to get ‘toned abs’ and our chat went on.
Nice to get feedback but in case you’re wondering- I’ve never kicked anyone’s *kitten* and nor could I even if my life depended upon it 😂 nor have I got abs (well, I know i have them obviously but not particularly apparent…yet)

I have high blood pressure now!9

I took a picture of my nail colour to show a friend, she told me my wedding rings were way too loose (they are getting sized after the summer humidity!)12

@julianoutram6598 I'm curious, why do you consider high blood pressure an NSV?1

I'm thinking it was a typo3 -
Major knee injury a month ago. It is going to be a long recovery with likely surgery. Having depression and anxiety about it as well as my already poor fitness tanking further. Today is the first time I have had any positive thoughts about it. Feeling like this is an opportunity to focus on myself, really change my body composition, get through this and come out new and improved.17

Could you position it as an opportunity to try something new? Is there a physiotherapist who could give you suggestions! Could you try swimming or deep water aquafit? My gym offers multiple kinds of chair classes. What about upper body work?
Just randomly throwing stuff out there. All I had was an itty bitty broke toe and it threw me for a loop for a couple days til I figured out what I could still do9 -

Glad to see that you are coming out of the injury funk and seeing it as a new opportunity. I wish you all the luck in staying out of the depression and anxiety. IF you are looking for ideas on how to meet your new goals (unsolicited advice): There are plenty of sitting/office workout/upper body exercises and programs you can try. Improved food quality intake (I want to say diet but diet as a healthier lifestyle not a weight loss plan) is also always an option.9 -
Honestly.....my NSV SHOCKS ME! 😲 It speaks more to the Power of Patience and the importance of not quitting or becoming discouraged.
In 2019, pre Covid....we planned a trip and as a wardrobe refresh...I fell in love with a shirt that came in 3 colourways....so I got one in each BUT a S, M, L. At that time, the L fit best. I wore it for a few years.....eventually sending off to my sister when it got too big. The quality is excellent. The M in a different colour has fit for about a year now.....TODAY it is so comfortable it fits BETTER than the Large ever fit! I'm TRULY amazed as when I first received it FIVE years ago.....trying to get it on was COMICAL 😆. I could sorta get my arms in the sleeves and have it cover my shoulders. (The S...never mind....made for a 10 year old!) 😒 Its a really beautiful blouse and have been getting double takes in it all day 😍.
It was a risk buying all three colors in the three sizes.....but I couldn't imagine losing the weight and having it no longer fit.....lol. I really believed I would not only fit my favourite colour.....the M....but the S was also "needed". Stay very patient and keep putting in the work....five years later truly feels like three....time passes SO FAST....tomorrow I am going to try on......the Small 😲24 -
Thank you @springlering62 and @aerochic42. I appreciate all the suggestions!!6

Not super recent, but I was just looking at my blood pressure history over the past few years... to be continued (I'm guessing those two low readings in 2020/2022 were probably not accurate.)
Here's my weight, for reference:

A shirt that used to be too tight on me is a lot looser now. It's comfy.14

Played football (soccer to the Americans!) with my nephew yesterday. 125lbs ago I would have really struggled but today it was merely a decent workout!20

Making a packing list of clothes I might need for a vacation, I was thinking of buying a few new things to take with me... until I realized I was smaller now than the sizes I was picking with no plans to stop and smell the roses anytime soon! I'm saving the money for a thrifting spree in about 20 lbs instead.16

I had a seriously stressful and upsetting afternoon/evening yesterday, and I did NOT resort to comfort eating. I did think very hard about going for ice cream, but I knew it would do nothing useful for me, and didn’t act on the impulse (other than checking out the current flavors at the ice cream shop, lol). This is a major success for me, because I spent my whole life eating to stuff down my uncomfortable emotions, and I'm finally getting the hang of using more productive coping and problem-solving approaches. I'd like to give a shout-out to Allen Carr who helped me understand that food does not fix difficult feelings.15

✨✨✨New measurements are in!✨✨✨ Another two months’ worth of progress: I lost 🌟 0.5” from my neck 🌟 0.5” from my arm 🌟 1” from my waist 🌟 1” from my stomach/butt 🌟 0.5” from my thigh and 🌟 0.5” from my calf. Last time I had lost most of my inches around my center, this time it’s evenly distributed overall.
Bonus: my “upper belly” is almost gone now20 -
there was leftover cake, cookies, and fruit from a meeting in the breakroom. The cake looked and smelled great but I just took some fruit. (although I am hoping that since they put the leftovers just before lunch it disappears before I go to eat myself so I don't have to leverage additional self control)

My company frequently gives away T-shirts for gifts for completing cost saving projects. In the past, I have gotten them in 2X and XL. This time, I decided to try a L. It's a little bit snug around the middle still, but it fit fairly well.25

I have stuck to my no red meat more than 1x per month and no fried food for a couple of weeks now. It's a start, but my gutt is healing and I'm feeling better. This is enabling me to focus on my next goal.19

I don't have to unzip my jeans to take them off. I'm hoping that they will continue to last for a bit longer though.17

Years ago I overstretched my oblique after a workout session. I didn't think much of it at the time....the pain came back at some point in the last ten years. I just learned to live with it....it seemed to come and go. I realized it's completely GONE in the last week. I'm down a total of 26 pounds in the last 18 months. I think the pain was caused by the extra weight around my middle 😕. It feels like a miracle actually.....lol . 😀 I haven't felt it in weeks!! I'm thrilled!!21
