HELP ! ! ! ! ! i just don't get it, last couple days, i have been over hungry, and don't know why. i know better, but old habits are TRYING to sneak back in. not going WAY overboard like i used to before MFP. but still eating a bit more. just feels like my body is yelling for the extra nutrients. i REALLY don't know why.

i am NOT giving up this journey, i am NOT going to give in to my old ways. but i am just not sure what's going on. why am i extra hungry lately? WHY?

it is so frustrating when i'm trying to get healthy, trying to drop pounds, i'm really trying. why does my body have to feel like this? WHY? it's so hard to do this when my body is telling me otherwise.

again, I WILL NOT GIVE UP! i WILL keep fighting! I WILL SUCCEED!

Don't give up - you have already had so much success!!

Try to find some foods that are filling, delicious, but not too high in calories? Drink water? Eat slower? I'm sure you've heard it all before - but perhaps hearing it again will give you a boost?

    Hang in there!

thanks carolina_r. i have heard it before. got my water in check. and i really don't eat that fast, unless i have like NO time to eat, but i try to pace myself. been doing as best as i can with the lower calorie foods.

and i WONT give up! i have come to far, and have to much to lose ~ literally and figuratively ~. so i WONT quit! my life and my time is worth too much to give up!
  • The hardest part is actually accepting the fact that you are a female. At certain times of the month, for me it's when I'm ovulating, I become ravenous! Try to find foods that have high volume and little calories. I just found a "pasta" called Pasta Slim that, for 2 servings, is only 40 calories!!!! (It's in the cold food section near the vegetarian foods or produce) Eat lots of salads or take the opportunity to eat lots of protein. Chicken breast will fill you up and doesn't take up too many calories in your day. Don't be afraid to go a little over either........sometimes you have to so that you can stay on track! Good luck.....Feel free to hit me up with any questions. I know the feeling all too well!
  • Don't give up! Keep going, you're doing great!

Keep on truckin' you are doing great. I feel your words and I am at a low and feel when I am upset I want to eat then I don't stop and it is a vicious circle. Let's all do this together and we CAN do it. I just started with this site and I hope this is the beginning to really getting on track. My life needs it and we deserve it!
  • Do have have a spike day? Some people call it a cheat day. But maybe setting aside a day and PLANNING to eat what you want and to whatever degree you want might help you stay on track for the other 6 days.

I realize there's a lot of controversy over the topic and many people feel like it's unnecessary or destructive, but it's not going to wreck all your success. If you know that once your spike is over and you have to get back to your plan for the rest of the week, it tends to balance things out.

Definitely make sure to have low calorie snacks on hand that you can have when you feel like you're still hungry, & drink lots of water with it! I've had this problem occasionally in the evening, & that's what I do. If you're still hungry but have no calories left, eat more but exercise a little to earn the calories back! :)
You have a great attitude about it! Don't give up! You have made such great success...I can't wait to be where you are! :)
  • Make sure to drink extra water to help keep you feeling full. But maybe your body is needing a little more nutrients. Maybe up your calories for a day or two by 250 or so, then go back to what you were doing. That won't be enough to gain, but if you are eating veggies, it's a lot of food and may help with that feeling. Just make sure you are eating healthy extras!

You will be fine, recognizing it is the biggest thing!

if you started working out its normal to get hungry more often. Try taking a multivitamin if you arent already. Now, if there are certain foods you crave day and night (i have been wanting eggs a lot, and i hate eggs. I upped my protein and healthy fats for a few days and feel better.) pay attention! Your body is very good at telling you what it needs, and if you are hungry there is a reason! Try adding a protein bar, some nuts, carrots, or an apple in when you get munchy and that should help!

When u have a craving for something naughty, allow yourself to have it ONLY if u prepare it yourself and make the healthiest version of it possible. Like if you're into peanut butter cups, get 70% dark chocolate and spread a little PB on it. Cheesecake? Make it with skim ricotta or neufchâtel. Don't try to control yourself too much because if it's one thing I've learned, the weight release journey is not about self-control, it's about self-care.

One of my friends on here gave me a great tip for when I first started. First thing in the morning take Metacusal tastes like tang and the fiber helps to keep you feeling fuller giving your stomach time to start shrinking back to normal. It does help and it is worth a try! Good luck! We all falter I know I just ate potato chips I didn't need or really want. I will add them to my diary, it stinks I was doing so well today!
By the way how did you do the shrinking lady at the bottom of your post? message me!

I was going to suggest time of month as well-- the week of my cycle I am always ravenous and craving chocolate. I know it's coming so I stock up on the healthiest snacks I can and I allow myself a little wiggle room-- like a day or two of maintenance caloric intake instead of the 1200 calories. It's actually a nice chance for me to have a little extra without going way overboard. Good luck and good for you for being so determined!

Speaking of PB...google PB2....it is powdered PB, but 45 calories for 2 tbsp!!...I know it sounds nasty...but OMG, it is soo good. They also have PB2 chocolate...YUM! Also, Justin's PB makes PB cups. :)
