  • Hi how did you manage to lose 16 pounds?not even a pound busts even when I try hard....:grumble:
  • Try having popcorn as a snack....they have a lot of varieties and small portion sizes. I find that helps me when I'm craving something salty/crunchy.

Trick yourself by eating something sweet that is sugar-free. My favs are Jello brand sugar-free puddings (60cal). Or, another treat I learned while on the South Beach Diet is to take 1/2cup lite or low-fat ricotta cheese, add splenda, vanilla, and cocoa to taste. Add 3 or 4 chocolate chips. Filling (to help take the edge off) and makes you think you're eating carbs! Also try without the cocoa but using almond extract, orange extract, or whatever flavor you prefer!

I like carbs too! I am up for some good ideas. Unfortunately the carbs I enjoy are the starches not the sweets. So the sweet idea would not work. And I usually follow sweet with something salty. UGH!

Myself, I always have a small bowl of fruit in the evening after dinner. Tonight was a couple medium strawberries sliced, 1/4 cup or so blueberries, and 5 decent sized raspberries.

After cutting out sugar for the past 3 months, fresh fruit is absolutely mouth wateringly delicious!

If you are following a low-carb / ketogenic diet, go for bacon! You can even coated it with dark chocolate and stevia for a sweet and salty crunchy snack.

Try paying attention to what and when you are eating and see if this has an impact on cravings.
I've learnt that if I don't have a good breakfast and morning snack then I'm more likely to crave in the late afternoon. So a bigger brekky works well for me.

I also notice that I have more cravings or am more hungry at certain times of the month - thanks, hormones! I have been adjusting my calorie allowance weekly to allow more cals when I'm ovulating as this is when I am hungriest. It just means that I have a smaller deficit that week but still lose weight.
