So I noticed when I put celery into my Pal it tells meI am consuming calories... I thought celery was negative calories. BTW I''m new at this nice to meet you guys.

  • Welcome! Celery has calories, though supposedly the act of eating it burns more than you take in. I don't think it is true, but I don't really know.

    calories that are listed on labels don't take the digestive calories burned into account.

    Celery is no different.

    If I eat peanut butter I don't subtract 10 calories from the label because my body uses 10 calories to digest it.

    Kinda the same principle

    Well dont let it hurt too bad :) Most of the foods which are reputed to be "negative calorie" are indeed very low calorie, mostly vegetables, so if you have a lot of them in your diet you will be on your way to better food choices anyhow :)
