i recently went on a test trial because i was not losing weight. i was eating a majority of my calories at night so i decided i would not eat after 8pm for two weeks. a messed up about 2 days because i had to work late and was not able to eat until i got off. all in all it worked pretty well though. Today was weigh in and i gained .5lb damn it.....but i did a big weightlifting session yesterday so im not sure if this caused the gain..... HOWEVER i have lost .5 inch in my waist and another .5 inch in my hips. and i feel like i look smaller in the mornings instead of looking bloated. i will keep this up for the most part (if i have to eat late because a conflict every once in a while so be it) SInce i did not lose any weight though i am thinking of now trying to cut my carbs. not sure what to do. i never go over my allowence but i eat alot of them. but i also eat alot of protein and fiber. any thoughts or suggestions?

You've lost inches. Why are you so concerned about losing weight? Is your goal to be fitter and stronger and carry less fat, or is your goal to make the scale go down? The latter goal doesn't seem to have much merit.0

If you think you might be eating too many carbs, you probably are.
This actually caused me to NOT lose weight, even thought I stayed under my MFP calories and worked out 6 days a week very hard.
Once I cut out all refined carbs and all sugars, and made sure to get about double the protein that MFP wanted me to have (I find they were too conservative on that #), I've been losing weight consistently.
Read this recent article - it's an eye opening interview about wheat and carbs:

I work at a hospital. I asked our Diabetes Educator-even tho I don't have diabetes-what kind of diet they recommend, figuring it would be a good, healthy diet. They recommend no more than 30 carbs per meal or a total of no more than 100 carbs per day. I've really increased my protein intake as well and it's working.0

I just dont know what to eat. i know eggs, chicken and cheese are low in carbs and high in protein. I eat eggs every morning for breakfast and chicken is about the only meat i eat. i do not really eat cheese as it is so high in calories. i eat alot of fruit and veggies and they are full of carbs which is where alot of my carb intake comes from. I usually eat an apple everyday and that is about 26 carbs right there.0 -
