    Happy June! ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒบ
My goals this month are to enjoy being outside, spending time with family, and fully embrace my journey to better health.

Here is to logging, walking, and weighing daily!

Daily Walking or dancing helps my mental health and I always feel good when I do it in the morning. I know that I canโ€™t out walk my overeating, but is a good โ€œstepโ€ in the right direction ๐Ÿ˜‰

Logging is my friend, so why do I dread it so? When I log consistently, everything seems to fall into place. I just need to do it without judging myself. I need to make small changes for success and a healthier lifestyle.

Mid month challenge: walk at least 5 days for 15 minutes or more & log daily for the rest of this month.

    June 28: 182.0 ๐Ÿฅ› โœ๏ธ ๐Ÿง‚ ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Ok obviously something I was doing during my 1200/1570 week was working, but this week what I'm doing isn't. Last week I was pretty consistent about water and salt; this week had a Chinese restaurant. Darlene, you make a good point about the salt monster, thank you. And congrats on getting back to where you began before your vacation. YOU ROCK!

But maybe I can't blame my gain all on inconsistency and salt. Because last week I was weighing and measuring everything for the 1200 days; this week I've gone back to eyeballing portion sizes. Whether I log it ahead or not, an underestimate is still an underestimate.

Hmm. Okay. Time to tweak my plan. I've gotta get that water in consistently; and I'll go back to weighing and measuring portions. I'm competitive with myself and I am highly tempted to just do 1200 cal for the last few days of the month so that I meet my challenge goal. Phooey. I'm feeling mixed emotions about having set the goal in the first place.

Donna, hugs Hun; is there some stress that is underlying that nighttime binge snacking? Is there someone you can call or text who's a night owl like yourself, who can talk you off the binge ledge?

Adding: yeah, I'm going back to the 1200 because I hate to lose a game. Yes, I'm that competitive. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Don't get me wrong-- If I'm playing a game with people and I lose, well I say to myself, they were a worthy opponent and fair is fair. I'm not a sore loser.

But when the only competition is me, and the goal is a smart goal, well then by golly, I better kick this horses rear in gear and get it done, even if that horse is flying through the gate all in a lather.

    06/26-186.4-(Trend Weight 186.1)-

06/27-186.6-(Trend Weight 186.3)- It was a very good day of meal planning and eating. But a very bad night of binge and I donโ€™t just mean the TV. The madness has got to stop. My reno crew is not coming today and Iโ€™m already stir crazy. I may head out-of-town for any shopping I need and maybe do a little resale-ing. Lots of projects I need to do around here too though so weโ€™ll see. I looked up what I weighed on this day last year. It feels like Iโ€™ve gotten nowhere but records show I am down nearly 12 pounds. Thatโ€™s not much for an entire year of working so hard at logging, prep cooking and often (not often enough?) going without the foods I love. But itโ€™s nothing for an old gal like me to sneeze at either. Keep going Donna. Progress is just around the bend.

06/28-186.4-(Trend Weight 186.4)- Jeepers Creepers it sure goes on faster than it comes off. As usual after a substantial gain I am โ€œmixing things upโ€ to get things moving. Changing type of exercise/rotating, completely adding in different foods I donโ€™t use much, using the zig-zag plan where my calories and carbs are all mixed up to surprise my body, changing what times I eat, increasing water over coffee, Intermittent Fasting (some days) so my body never knows what to expect etc. etc. It will all pay off but it takes a bit of time. Today was no-weigh Friday but I weighed and forgot to take the once-per-week Fosamax for my Osteopenia that usually screws up my Friday schedule. Iโ€™ll take it tomorrow instead so I may not weigh tomorrow. Woke up today and mixed it up by doing a 15 minute aerobic video (something I donโ€™t do often in the morning due to needing my coffee so badly). I fasted a little later than yesterday but ate a small side with my lunchtime sandwich will increase the calories for the day for sure so I will be zig-zagging to the higher end of allowed. Is it science or is it a game? A little of both I think.

Hello I'm Darlene. Retired, 63-year-old. Married (Greg), one adult daughter (Allyson), and one goldendoodle (Monty), back for another month with this supportive group. I have been on this weight loss journey since January 2023, and with this group since April 2023.

    ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐ŸŒปHappy June!๐ŸŒป๐Ÿ˜Ž

    My Goals for June

๐Ÿ‘ฃ Average 8k Steps (lowering due to knee injury - may increase later in month if I heal)
    ๐Ÿ“ Log Daily
๐Ÿฅ— Stay under my calorie range

    ๐Ÿง‚Stay under sodium goal
๐Ÿ“– ๐ŸŽฎ or ME! Read, play a game or Me time daily
โš–๏ธ Lose 2% of body weight - Stretch Goal 4 pounds

    Starting Weight 228

    SW Dec: 228 | Jan: 217 | Feb: 212 | Mar: 207.6 | Apr 200.2 | May 194.8 | Jun: 189.6 | Jul: 187.4 | Aug: 179.8 | Sept: 174.2 | Oct: 169.6 | Nov 164.6 | Dec 164 | Jan 159.8 | Feb 156.8 | Mar 152.8 | Apr 151.6 | May 149.6

    June Starting Weight: 149.6

Each Month I write a reflection on how the month went. Here is mine from May if you want to read. For the new people (and the not so new)- I strongly encourage you to take some before pictures. I didn't do so in the beginning and I regret it. It takes a LONG time to actually see a difference in yourself, and to be honest takes a long time for those that are around you every day to see it too. If you take some before and after pictures every month you'll notice the difference sooner, which can be quite a motivating to keep going. You will acctually see all the hard work that you are doing is paying off. And believe me it is really hard! Be proud of what you are doing - put yourself first sometimes. You are allowed to do so! You've Got This!

    May Reflection

Iโ€™ll start with the good this month. I lost weight this month! Not the four pounds I wanted to lose but a loss. Two pounds towards my goal and met my goal to get into the 140s! I am down 78.4 pounds since starting my weight loss journey.

I reached the 1,200 mile marker on my quest to walk 2,024 miles in 2024. I have logged 1,215 miles to date. My tracker remains in the purple range (that means I will make it). So far have averaged 7.99 miles per day. This tracker is all miles walked โ€“ not just intentional. I am also tracking my intentional miles, just to see how I do. To date I have tracked 917.9 intentional miles. This puts me at 45% complete (just ahead of where I should be to meet the goal).

My Biggest Loser and Hogwarts challenges both were running in May. I have wonderful teams for both challenges. Such a fantastic and inspiring group of people all helping each other meet our goals. I have said it before and I will say it again, I wouldnโ€™t be where I am without them. They keep me motivated and accountable and make this journey a fun one.

Now for the ugly - I had an injury mid-month that has been very discouraging for my goals. I hurt my knee somehow which has limited my mobility. For the past couple weeks have been limited to a few small walks, and mostly seated chair exercises. I found a couple workouts that are halfway decent, but honestly donโ€™t know how well I am actually burning calories. I had an orthopedic appointment and MRI, but am still waiting for my follow-up appointment to discuss what they found. It is scheduled for June 4th. I have been continuing the strength, cardio, and stretch exercises but my 17K a day steps didnโ€™t happen. I did not meet my 250 miles or my 150 miles of intentional walking this month.

I finished the first book of the Harry Potter series, along with my Hogwarts Challenge. I am continuing to read the third book of the Invisible Library Series โ€“ โ€œThe Burning Pageโ€, but honestly donโ€™t really enjoy it โ€“ so it has been a tough one.

I have realized that my mission to reach the ideal range by my birthday in August will be a stretch and that is disappointing. Realistically, and at the rate I have been losing lately, it will probably be October so am setting this as my new goal. After reaching, I want to lose another five pounds to keep myself under control. My goal to reach that additional five pounds is my two-year mark on this journey โ€“ January 8, 2025!

    I WILL get there.

    My June Goals:

โ€ข Lose 4 pounds (always my goal), but be happy with a 2% loss for the month
โ€ข Alternate days of Cardio and Strength Training
โ€ข Stretch 3 days per week
โ€ข Finish the Burning Page and find something fun to read

My Before and After for May:

    wl61a7zo63pa.png

    ๐Ÿ‘ฃ ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿซ€ ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง‚๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŽฎME!
June 1: 149.6 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿซ€ ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง‚๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŽฎME! Got it all done yesterday. Today will be a fun day - still hope to get it all done. My sister is having a picnic today, with the family and friends. I promise to make some good choices and will do my best to log everything. Hoping not to see the 50s tomorrow but I do expect it - and it will be temporary!

June 2: 150.2 ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ’ฆ๐ŸŽฎME! What I expected, but had a wonderful time yesterday. I logged everything (and it wasn't pretty). Back to it today!

June 3: 148 ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ‘ฃ ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿซ€ ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง‚๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŽฎME! I got it all done. It was the last day of the Hogwarts challenge and I had to meet my unbreakable vow. Silly me, vowed to average at least 100 minutes of intentional exercise over four weeks. I started out ok, but then my knee injury came in week three. Without my hour walk in the AM, 100 minutes is a LOT - especially in a chair. But I did it (it helped that I did a lot in the beginning of the month)! Also at the end of last month I decided to give my plateau a boost and ordered a week of Nutrisystem. It appears to be working. My body probably just needed a change in diet!

June 4: 148.2 ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿซ€ ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง‚๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŽฎME! It was bingo night with Mom last night, noone won. I did have a peppermint patty - which is off my plan this week. Slightly over on the calories. Didn't make my step goal yesterday, thinking I might be a stretch, but will keep it there until I hear from the doctor today. I am a little nervous about what she will say - hoping at least they can tell me why I hurt.

June 5: 147 ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿฅ— ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง‚๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŽฎME! Complete rest day for me. First no exercise day in a LONG time. I am going to start doing this once a week. Had my follow-up appointment yesterday - torn meniscus with moderate arthritis. My doctor said that the combination of the two makes the treatment a little trickier. The meniscus tear surgery can lead to worsening the arthritis. With that in mind she suggested a cortizone shot. I went with that option, I don't feel much different today - but she said it might take a bit. Fingers crossed it works. I am very happy about my weight loss - looks like the Nutrisystem boost is working - probably coupled with the ibuprofen detox!

June 6: 146.8 ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ‘ฃ ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿซ€ ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง‚๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŽฎME! Beautiful day, we spent it on the boat on the Connecticut River. I don't know what it is - but just so relaxing sitting on the water. Got in a small seated cardio, and some stretching when we go home. The NS still appears to be working, so ordered another week and then I am done. They had a free order a la cart trial for the month - just what I needed.

June 7: 146.7 ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง‚๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŽฎME! Quiet day for me. Felt a little better so cleaned the kitchen and family room, and vaccumed. Then felt a little sore. Hoping to finish the downstairs today. I also got in a STANDING strength workout (knee friendly - no squats, no lunges) and it felt wonderful. Hoping to get in a 1/2 mile walk today - baby steps! Didn't meet my step goal - but easing into it. I kind of feel guilty about claiming the ones above - because they were seated steps - but then I said - it was still steps - take the win!

June 8: 146.2 ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ‘ฃ ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿซ€ ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง‚๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŽฎME! Happy Weekend! I got in a 1/2 mile walk - Woo Hoo. Was going to attempt to do my cardio routine standing - but ending up sitting down. Guess I'm not ready for that. Didn't get the rest of the house cleaned - hubby took down a tree yesterday that was blocking the sun for the garden. I watch while he drops the tree to make sure that he is safe. It got hung up in another tree (yes this is Dรฉjร  vu the same thing happened the last time he dropped a tree)- so was out there until he could get it safely to the ground. Before I knew it the day was gone.

June 9: 146.3 ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿง‚๐Ÿ’ฆ ๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŽฎME! Was an off the rail day for me. Ate what I wanted, no exercise. I did track everything, was 600 calories above my goal! The one saving grace was that it was not sodium related - was actually under that goal. I was actually pleasantly surprised it didn't jump higher - might show up on the scale tomorrow. Back to it today!

June 10: 146.8 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง‚๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŽฎME! Yup, my splurge is showing up a little at a time. Was on point days yesterday. Got in a mile walk, and some strength training. I am super excited. We just booked a last minute trip to Hawaii! We have to drop off Allyson at JFK and said as long as we are there, why don't we use those frequent flyer miles that we have used in AGES! Got a super deal on a last minute condo. Gong to go on the cheap - eat a some meals in (we have a full kitchen). Just doing Oahu - no island jumping - have been before so no expensive sight seeing tickets. Just going to enjoy the beach, weather and hopefully get in a few hikes (if my knee will take it). We leave next Sunday for nine days. I don't think I will have access to a scale (unless the resort gym has one), so won't be weighing in - but I'll check in - maybe not daily - but I'll check in.

June 11: 145.9 ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ‘ฃ ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿซ€ ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง‚๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŽฎME! Bingo night with Mom, and resisted the goodies! Having the trip a less than a week away is a motivation to do well this week.

Jun 12: 145.4 ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘ฃ ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง‚๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŽฎME! Feeling good. The cortisone shot worked. I still wake up with a little pain and stiffness, but it goes away during the day. Met my 5.5 mile goal (that's the amount you need per day for 2024 in 2024). The Nutrisystem experiment was also a good one for me. I have three days left of food, and then back to making my own. What I've learned is that my deficit calculation was off - I'm going to stick to the 1300 calorie range that I consumed with NS and see if that works for me. It will be tough next week while I am away but will do that when I return.

June 13: 145.2 ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ‘ฃ ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿซ€ ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง‚๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŽฎME! Got a beautiful walk in - up to 2 miles. Thinking that is as far as I am going to push myself for the next month or so. Washed the back deck, cleaned a little. Tried on some clothes for trip. The good news is that a lot of the dresses and bathing suits didn't fit (another big bag to go to goodwill), the bad news is that a lot of the dresses and bathing suits didn't fit. I am packing light! LOL. I always bring more than I need anyway.

June 14: 145.0 ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘ฃ ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง‚๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŽฎME! I start PT today, kind of silly because it will be another two weeks before I can go back, but at least it will show me the correct stretches to do on my own. This is my last day of Nutrisystem Food and it is pre-logged so have my stats. Here is what I found out.
    1. It works - I got over my plateau and continued to lose - lost almost 5 pounds in two weeks. ๐Ÿ˜
    2. It was super easy to follow ๐Ÿ˜ but, had we had to cook two meals daily - one for me, one for Greg. โ˜น๏ธ
    3. The food was edible - not fantastic, not gross ๐Ÿ˜
    4. I did not meet my protein goal most days โ˜น๏ธ, but met carb, fat, sodium and fiber goals almost every day ๐Ÿ˜.
    5. Most days the calories were about 1,350 - ranging from a little under 1,200 to 1,600. I wasn't hungry. ๐Ÿ˜
    6. I usually eat 5 fruits/veggies a day - but switched to 4 veggies one fruit on Nutrisystem. ๐Ÿ˜
    6. It's doable as a quick fix, I couldn't do it long term. ๐Ÿ˜
    7. Overall - I am extremely happy with the weight loss. So overall score! ๐Ÿ˜ But am really looking forward to cooking again! ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿณ
    8. Next step - see if I gain it all back?

June 15 145.8 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿซ€ ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง‚๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŽฎME! I did it to myself - even though I was under my calorie range - off plan and over sodium limit. Leaving tomorrow AM. I am going to be realistic. I will not be losing weight while away - I'm not going to let it be a free for all, but expect an increase - just hoping that it won't be the USUAL vacation increase! I'll check in from time to time - but see you all in nine days!

    June 16 147 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŽฎME! Father's Day pizza - salt, salt, salt.

June 17 146.8 Yes ๐Ÿ‘ฃ ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿง‚๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŽฎME! I have access to a scale. Don't know if I will weigh in every day - but will probably be here. It is part of my morning ritual, kind of like my diary! Travel day day, airplane food, then out to dinner. Even though we had an 11 hour flight, I had a LOT of steps. Here is a the view from my room. Beach day today!

June 18 146.5 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ ๐Ÿ“๐ŸŠ ๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŽฎME! Beautiful day. We spent it at the beach. When we were swimming two sea turtles swam up to us. Apparently it is a $1000 fine if you touch them, but what if they touch you? LOL! Bringing our underwater camera pouch today to see if we can get pictures. Hopefully they will return. We were going to take a tour to swim with turtles later in the week, now we don't have to waste our money on that. I think I did pretty well with the eating, I did have an ice cream, but ate breakfast in, and ate only half of each meal at lunch and dinner. Brought the rest home for future breakfast and/or lunches. Since we are a VRBO, and did not book directly with the resort - I can't use the fitness center (apparently they couldn't agree on a contract), so did laps in the pool for my exercise. It was a nice change, and easy on the knees. Still waking up at 3:30 AM Hawaii time, but that give me a chance to check in and plan the day.

June 19 145.4 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ ๐Ÿ“๐ŸŠ ๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŽฎME! More of the same. Yes, I could this every day and not get bored. The pool for laps in the AM, then the beach in the afternoon. Didn't see the turtles but, I'm getting my blue water and sand fix. Read, walked around the city. Another day of eating above my calorie range.

June 20 DNW ๐Ÿ‘ฃ ๐Ÿ“๐ŸŠ ๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŽฎME! Funny thing yesterday. It is weigh in day for the Biggest Loser Challenge that I am in. Couldn't sleep so got up at 3:00 AM Hawaii time, caught up on MFP, weighed in. Then finally went back to bed at 5:00 AM - got up at 7:30 and weighed in again - down a pound - same as last week. So changed my number for yesterday. A rest from the beach day. Lap swim at the pool in the AM. Then more walking around the city, stopped for Sushi for lunch. Then came back to our hotel, watched a movie. Self sabotaged after being happy about maintaining yesterday. It started off with having a couple of drinks. Always makes me throw caution to the wind, which is why I have mostly given up alcohol. Went out for ice cream and then to the to store and picked up some munchies (not a good thing), chocolate (it is dark chocolate) and stuff for dinner. A bumpy ride, but life is filled with those - back at it today - hoping for smooth sailing.

June 21 146.7 ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŽฎME!Rented a car, took a scenic drive all around the island. Beautiful day, no exercise. Greg is feeling a little yucky, so will probably just relax today by the pool or on the beach.

June 22 147.7 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ ๐Ÿ“๐ŸŠ ๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŽฎME! Yup a full pound. Terrible day of eating yesterday, salt and booze. Will detox today. Two more days of sunshine.

June 23 147.7 ๐Ÿ“๐ŸŠ ๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŽฎME! Rest Day. Swam my laps in AM, then read my book on the balcony. Then back to the beach to hang in the water for an hour. Out to lunch, and then took a nap. Finished my book, ate leftovers for dinner. Then caught up on the news and a movie before bed. We have one more day in paradise before heading home.

June 24 148.7 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŽฎME! We took a boat tour yesterday - a two mile walk to the boat, and then another two miles back. Rested in the afternoon, then Allyson met us for dinner for the last night. She had a wonderful time and is already talking about taking another solo vacation. We had a great time too - so glad we decided to come. Yes, I gained weight - but my sodium intake was over every day this week. Hoping to see a steady decline over the next week. I am back at it full swing starting this morning. Packing up when I finish catching on on MFP. Then heading home. Won't be checking in tomorrow - the plane doesn't land until tomorrow morning and then a long drive from JFK to home. Can't wait to see Monty.

June 25 DNW ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŽฎME! I'm home! It was a travel day - 10+ hours on a plane. Always look forward to going on vacation, always look forward to coming home. Now to get back to business. Although I am home, half the day was on the plane with plane food. I will get back to business tomorrow. Now to go take a nap.

June 26 148.4 ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง‚๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŽฎME! Unpacked, did all the laundry, took a long nap. Ate healthy - life is good. I have a long way back - but I'll get there. On a good note - at least I am not over where I started this month.

June 27 147.5 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿซ€ ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง‚๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŽฎME! It was wonderful to ge back to my normal routine. Took a walk with Monty, cardio workout day, watched some tv that we missed. All in all a good day.

June 28 145.4 ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘ฃ ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿซ€ ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง‚๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŽฎME! I am so happy to see this swish - the release of my sodium took a few days but it came! I am back to where I was before I left on vacation. Now to hold on to it, or even better to kick June's butt! Got it all done yesterday!

June 29 144.8 ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘ฃ ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿซ€ ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง‚๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŽฎME! Today we are going to see South Pacific at the Goodspeed Theater - so fitting since we just got back from our trip. Hubby and I are alone this time - Allyson is taking this one off. Since she isn't with us, we decided to skip the out to dinner afterwards - kind of tired of restaurant food.

28/6 - It's been a challenging 10 days. Weight has consistently fluctuated, I'm finding 16-8 IF more difficult, didn't get the job I wanted, plus work is really stressful right now. Normally these stressers are a prelude to a binge, but thank god no binge. It wasn't will power but I stopped buying crap food when I started this challenge 6 weeks ago. Therefore nothing in fridge to binge on.

I'm so grateful because I would have devoured chocolate if I had access to it.

It hasn't all been bad, started back in the gym with a personal trainer ๐Ÿ’ช๐ŸฟI need to get back into the routine plus have someone to ve accountable to. Its been great.

Plus achieved my GW this month which although I know I can do better, it's definitely something to be proud of.

    1/6 - SW: 169.2
    4/6 - 167.55
    8/6 - 166.4

18/6 - Lost focus the last week or so. Went to a wedding abroad for a few days and food plan and exercise went sideways. Ate lots of delicious food and drank lots of wine and ended up putting weight back on.

Back from trip and started my intermittent fasting again. May have slipped with a diet drink but hit 15,000 steps and back on course.

I hope to focus on keeping my steps up, eating better and exercising more.

    1/6 - SW: 169.2
    4/6 - 167.55
    8/6 - 166.4

8/6 - Had a good day yesterday but bad food
day. Treated myself to Wingstop and Rasberry Tart :'(

Smashed through the daily calorie limit.

However, did hit my minimum 10,000 steps.

Eat less wings than I normally would. So, still a Silver lining. Plus going to the gym today, so not all bad.

The aim this month is: GW: 165

    1/6 - SW: 169.2
    4/6 - 167.55
    8/6 - 166.4

    GW: 165
    UGW: 140

4/6 - Things going well overall.

Enjoying the intermittent fasting. Don't miss breakfast and can comfortably go without.

Went for health check in local gym and bloods all good.

After being weighed I realised that I'd hit one of my milestones. My BMI has gone from Obese to Overweight. From 28.1 to 26.3 ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿฟ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿฟ

I know I'm in the early weight loss honeymoon, but I'll take anything I can get. ๐Ÿ˜€

Wishing you all best best of luck in reaching your goals this month, but mostly thank you for the welcome. ๐Ÿ’›

    โ€โ€
    Starting the June Challenge:

Lurked around last month as started my weight loss journey on 18th May. Since then I've lost 5lbs, which I'm really excited about.

I'm mixing up intermittent fasting with a minimum of 10,000 steps per day.

    The aim this month is:

    1/6 - SW: 169.2
    4/6 - 167.55

    GW: 165
    UGW: 140

Based in London and this journey started when I was on the tube and a young women asked me if I wanted her seat. I politely declined but couldn't get it out of my head. I kept wondering if she thought I was pregnant or really old ๐Ÿค” whatever the reason I knew I had to do something. So the next day 18th May I started walking a minimum of 10,000 steps.

I should really thank her, because I've been wanting to get healthier and reduce my BMI but just kept filling myself with takeaways because of convenience. At one stage I was gonna buy shares in JustEat and Uber Eats to get some of my money back ๐Ÿ˜„

All the best to you all on getting to your GW this June. ๐Ÿ’›

Whoosh! I'm surprised a bit because the snack monster got me last night, so I was a little over the 1200, 1350. But I was in the ladies room allot, so I was thinking the water retention might have finally let go.

As for weighing and measuring... Yep the portions look smaller than I'd have guessed. So I will add a โš–๏ธ icon for whether I weighed and measured my food that day. It's a bit of a pain in the butt; actually not just a bit. It's a major pain in the butt. And obviously I can't do that at restaurants... Any suggestions on that front? Do I stick to estimated salads, or eat only half the plate? Typically restaurants mean a bit of a gain every time, mostly because of salt but also my broken portionizer.

@cattherien That's what I do when I go out; box up half - eat half. I ask for the box upfront so I am not tempted to eat it. By the way - ninety percent of the time I am NOT hungry!

    06/27-186.6-(Trend Weight 186.3)-

06/29- DNW -(Trend Weight DNW )- I traded my no-weight Friday for no-weigh Saturday due to the special medication schedule and low sleep on the day. I did very well with meals again yesterday but bad with snacks. Too much again of low carb stuff that really pounded the calories on. I was not even hungry. Not full either, but satisfied. There was (again) no reason for it other than cravings and impulsiveness. I expect that if I got on the scale it would be up a bit. Hopefully I can do okay tonight and get an okay reading tomorrow. Disappointed in myself for sure.

Well I'm disappointed I couldn't get down to the goal. But on the flip side, it's almost a 2-lb net loss for the month, which isn't nothing, either. And 4 months ago, I was 10 pounds heavier. So those two things blunt the disappointment.

@iLive2Walk okay I'll ask for a to-go box when I order and I'll try that, thank you.

@deepwoodslady I hope you have a little loss this morning to end the month with. (Also you have mail).

@ozdeelite hey you did have a loss for the month, at least. 400g counts.

I'm going to join you guys over on July's thread; see you on the flip side.

    June Reflection

June was a great month for weight loss, a slowdown in exercise!

I lost 4.6 pounds this month โ€“ even beat my stretch goal! Down 83 pounds from the start of my journey. Even with a trip to Hawaii during the month. I have five pounds to go to get my BMI to the ideal range, and 10 pounds to go to my goal. When I get there, we shall see what I do โ€“ I might just go a tiny bit further to say that I hit the 100-pound mark. That would be another 17 pounds from today.

I reached the 1,350-mile marker on my quest to walk 2,024 miles in 2024, logging 135 miles in June โ€“ my least number of miles since I started this journey in January 2023. My injury last month turned out to be a meniscus tear and have had to slow down. I got a cortisone shot and feel a little better โ€“ but decreased my step goal from 17,000 steps a day to 8,000. Iโ€™m thinking I can move up to 10,000 in July. Although I have slowed down, I am still in the purple (that means I will make it) range. So far have averaged 7.45 miles per day. This tracker is all miles walked โ€“ not just intentional. I am also tracking my intentional miles, just to see how I do. To date I have tracked 982.05 intentional miles. This puts me at 48% complete โ€“ just below the 50% mark.

I did an experiment with Nutrisystem food in June. I ordered two weeks of food. Hereโ€™s what I found out:

    7. It's doable as a quick fix, I couldn't do it long term. ๐Ÿ˜
    8. Overall - I am extremely happy with the weight loss. So overall score! ๐Ÿ˜
    9. ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿณ I like to cook!

We took a trip to Hawaii midway through the month. Overall, I am very happy with my dedication on the trip. We did not have access to the fitness center โ€“ so my exercise consisted of swimming and walking. I logged everything I ate and drank to the best of my ability. I was over my calorie goal and more importantly my sodium goal every day, but not by huge numbers. I ate breakfast every day, and many lunches as well. I limited my alcohol. Only one day of two drinks, and many with none. I ate only half of my dinner entre โ€“ boxing up the rest for breakfast or Gregโ€™s snacks for the future. I gained weight, but within the week home lost it all.

Looking at my June goals, I did well โ€“ except never finished The Burning Page. I just couldnโ€™t through it. Will try to find something fun to read for July!

    My July Goals

โ€ข Lose 4 pounds (always my goal), but be happy with a 2% loss for the month
โ€ข Alternate days of Cardio and Strength Training
โ€ข Follow Doctorโ€™s orders โ€“ go to Physical Therapy
โ€ข Average 10K Steps per day

Daily Walking or dancing helps my mental health and I always feel good when I do it in the morning. I know that I canโ€™t out walk my overeating, but is a good โ€œstepโ€ in the right direction ๐Ÿ˜‰

Logging is my friend, so why do I dread it so? When I log consistently, everything seems to fall into place. I just need to do it without judging myself. I need to make small changes for success and a healthier lifestyle.

Mid month challenge: walk at least 5 days for 15 minutes or more & log daily for the rest of this month.

    06/27-186.6-(Trend Weight 186.3)-

    06/28-186.4-(Trend Weight 186.4)-

06/29- DNW -(Trend Weight DNW )- I traded my no-weight Friday for no-weigh Saturday due to the special medication schedule and low sleep on the day. I did very well with meals again yesterday but bad with snacks. Too much again of low carb stuff that really pounded the calories on. I was not even hungry. Not full either, but satisfied. There was (again) no reason for it other than cravings and impulsiveness. I expect that if I got on the scale it would be up a bit. Hopefully I can do okay tonight and get an okay reading tomorrow. Disappointed in myself for sure.

06/30-187.0-(Trend Weight 186.6)- I think I typed my trend weight wrong on some of my other challenges but Iโ€™ve got it correct here. I gained 5.2 lbs in the month of June. Not shocked. While I can rattle off every excuse that is actually true (diabetes, thyroid, hormone suppressing cancer medication, heart condition limiting exertion on exercise, age, blah, blah blah) there are two things I know for sure. 1. Even if my exercise is different from what others can do, I absolutely could have done more of my own. 2. Even if my metabolism does not work like other healthier peopleโ€™s, I could certainly have eaten better and eaten less and worked harder on the binge disorder. I have to remind myself that I am trying to lose 106 to 108 pounds from my original weight of 253. Thatโ€™s a long and difficult process but it is possible and I am just the gal to do it! About 66 down and about 40 to go. Thanks for letting me share my pep talk to myself. Hopefully it helps others too. If you are struggling, Iโ€™m with you

June wasn't the worst month. But it was sure far from the best. It was sure full of ups and downs. At least there was a net loss.iejbjek0y7ql.png
