Should I move onto level 2 or only when I'm good enough at level 1?

I've done level 1 and 2 in the past and wanted to do it again because it's familiar.

I've completed 10 days with some days off in between due to travelling. On day 4 I felt pretty strong, then started getting tired during the exercise after.

Today I felt strong again but I do take 5 second breaks here and there.

I am still not so good at planks even in the modified version which hurts my knees.

Overall though I did much better today despite having several days off.

Should I still keep going at level 1 until I'm not taking breaks or should I move onto level 2?

I have used Shred (and variations like beginner and the extreme) as part of my regular routine since they first came out. In the beginning I was like you and stuck to the time line. Now i mix it up because some of the levels are more strength focused and some more cardio. I would encourage you to try level two (I think it is more strength) and then mix and match. In general I think they are all good quick workouts. I am amazed by how quickly I gain strength..even at my age (I'm 75). I generally use 5-8lbs so not breaking any records but recently I skipped because of a stupid gardening injury and had to start back with 3s. Don't be afraid to modify if that means you can keep going.
