I am pretty lucky during my "time of the month", never in pain, it goes away quickly, I do get some cravings for sweet stuff but nothing major, but sometimes.. only sometimes, it makes me so irritable I can turn into a total b$tch.

Like today, I woke up in a good mood, had a yummy breakfast, lunch, squeezed a little workout, got some homework done and all of a sudden, when I was about to go for a run, I got so tired that I fell asleep for 15 min or so. I woke up pissed off and craving sweets like a mad woman. The worst part is that I am now mad at my bf for NO reason. He's done nothing wrong and I am aware of that but I can't help it... how do I make this feeling go away???? plz help

I can't give suggestions on how to make it go away but yes....I get evil. I also have PMDD and we're searching for a solution for me because it's now started to affect my quality of life.

Sucks to be a woman sometimes.

Un-friend this "Tom" person. But seriously, this topic is talked about here ad nauseum. Use the "search" function to see all the other people b!tch and moan about it, too.

Honestly though, if you're old enough to be on this site, it would be logical that you've been dealing with this for quite a few years now....have you STILL not gotten used to it?!

The worst symptom I've ever experienced was crying over the least little thing. I rarely get irritable, just easily upset, or crying for not reason at all.

As far as easing the symptoms, I'd just recommend recognizing that your emotions are erratic, and apologizing to those around you for the way you're acting. Even if it's embarrassing, I'll let people know WHY I'm acting like that, and they'll usually understand. But just keep yourself in check as much as possible. If you're feeling angry at someone, tell yourself that it's likely to be your emotions, rather than the person's actions. I've just always done my best to keep my emotions in check during that time. Growing up, being on your period was never an excuse to act like a jerk, so it's kind of been ingrained in my mind to tone it down.

Just doing things to relax you is always helpful, too. Lie down in bed, watch your favorite TV show or movie, listen to music, go for a walk, eat something you like (doesn't have to lead into a binge, just a bit of something comforting). When you're relaxed and feeling better, your mood is likely to improve.

I hope you start feeling better!

Nope. In fact, I stopped having it years ago when I got sick with an illness slated to kill me in a few short years, but thanks for bringing it up. What I meant was, women deal with periods from the time they are pre-teens/teens....if you haven't figured out that it makes you crampy and cranky by the time you're an adult, then you should probably learn a little more about your body!

Funny how I'm turning 30 in two months, and the doctors still can't figure out why I can't have a period unless I'm on the pill. So, sorry..... I haven't figured out why I'm crampy and cranky, and neither can a lot of specialists.

I like to counter PMS with MSB. It'll all be over once the hormonal rage has subsided.

No need to be rude. Periods aren't fun no matter how old you are. She was only asking for advice.

    I am a stereotypical TOM bee-otch.

Last week, I was in bed after craving like 5 different things (sweet then salty then sweet etc.)...and my boyfriend comes in...I turn over to go to sleep, and just start crying. He's just like, "BABE! I'M SORRY! I'LL GO WATCH T.V. IN THE OTHER ROOM...YOU DON'T HAVE TO CRY!" As I'm sobbing, I tell him "No honey, it's not you...don't go, stay and watch t.v...(sniffle sniffle) I JUST CAN'T HELP BUT CRY FOR NO REASON!" Wahhhhhh wahhh wahhhhh and I stopped after about 6 minutes. For what reason? I have no idea.

I went on vacation with my boyfriend in August and apparently I was being snappy and demanding...and TOM visited me my last day of vacation. So I was *****y thee WHOLE time. Plus my boobs were sore THE WHOLE beep-ing trip so it was kind of a downer....but whatever.

Anyway, Midol always makes me a nicer person.

Agreed. Sometimes it's nice to vent...and if you see the topic title and dislike what you see...don't read it.
