net calories

Hi everyone, I am confused by the net calories. I have read alot of post that say you should net 1200 calories. If that is so, why does my personal quiz tell me I should be 1540? If I eat 1540, am I not going to lose? I am only set at 1 pound a week and am happy with that. Does anyone have any advice?

I think 1200 cal is the least you have to take. If you are set to lose 1 pound per week you can eat until you can fill your report says and still lose that pound in a week.0

you should never eat under 1200 net calories, but if mfp gave you 1540 yes you will lose weight eating that much and i wouldnt reccomend going lower. everybody has different calorie needs.0

Thank you ladies, The idea of starting off with 1200 calories had me really worried that I could not stick to it!!! My 1540 sounds much more reasonable as a beginning point.0
