our bathroom scale has me a bit frusterated...its a digital scale and it can be as much as +/-3 libs different each time I step on it .. (IE one time I step on it I weigh 224 ,step off and back on and it will say 226 step off and back on it could say 221). I have to step on it 4/5 times in order to get a consistent measurement to log on here... Is the scale going bad or do is there something im doing wrong ?

Get a new scale. Pay the money for a good one. It's worth the investment.0

Have you tried changing the battery?? Mine did that until I changed it0 -
save the frustration - definitely invest in a better scale that doesnt have a 3lb variance....0

If you go all Michael Jackson on it and BEAT IT, well.. make sure the camera is on... I wanna watch! LOL0 -
I was just going to suggest changing the battery as well...time for a battery for mine....it is doing the same thing...maddening so it is...have a good weekend everyone...0

My scale does the same thing. I usually weight at least three times to get a consistent weight. But then when I go to the gym I weigh there to double check and my home weight usually matches the gym weight on the dr. type scales.0

I see disgusting things when I look in the mirror... i.e. butt's too big, tummy poofs out a bit too much, etc. I try to avoid the mirror as much as I can.0 -
I always try to Keep It Simple. Go with the battery first, then the hammer !0
-
change the battery first, when the battery starts to get low on a digital scale they go a tad whacky. if that doesn't work..................off to the landfill with it!! lol.0

probably... but i like the idea behind your strategy.0 -

Partially agree. You probably need a new scale. But more and more, there seems to be no correlation between price and quality in stuff like this. They are all made in China as cheaply as possible, with additional features or labels, rather than actual quality, determining the price. I bought a glass digital from the variety store for $18 and it works very well. That was after returning a more expensive scale that could be over or under by 20 lbs. So I suggest not buying online, because you will probably have to return a couple.0 -

Am I the only MFP'er that only weighs one time, so I wouldn't even know if my scale has this issue?0
