Of me to request??
Ex recently borrowed my vaccum(it's mine, as per the divorce paperwork). I need the vaccum back. I have NO issue lending it to him.
However, he lives nowhere on my way to anything. I've requsted that for once he drop it off, since I actually did him the favor of letting him use it.
I'm always the one to pick up/drop off anything. Quite frankly I'm tired of it.

Tacky for him. Sounds like he needs to get his own. He can get one pretty cheap. Send him off to Target.0

I don't see the problem with this.
But really, who the eff borrows a vaccuum?
At least he cleans.0 -
Not tacky for you at all. I wouldn't expect someone to come & get their stuff from me if I had been the one to borrow it.0
-
id stop letting him borrow it if he refused...0

it's a rainbow.
And he's probably not getting it again.0 -
Not tacky at all. He should be willing to bring it back since you let him borrow it. And if you have to go get it, then don't let him borrow it again.0
-
go get it and never lend him anything again0
-
ex's suck.
he should bring it back.0 -
never lend him anything again
^that, too.0 -
Pretty tacky he doesn't have his own vaccum and has the nerve to ask you to borrow it and keep it. Next time tell him to go to walmart and get his own.0
-
I would save myself the frustration and just go pick it up...otherwise your on his time....0
-
He isn't getting it back until my name is OFF that mortage.
Done venting

-
I wouldn't expect anything else from you. :drinker:Wait you got rid of a man that vacuums? You screwed up!0 -

his one good trait!0 -
He should automatically drop it off without having to be asked . . . if he can't bring it back he can't borrow it.0

Not tacky at all! I think I would just tell him to keep it, though, and buy a new one for myself. I would probably even say something tacky about why he needs it more than I do......but I can be tacky like that sometimes.
(if it's an expensive vacuum, I'd go get it, though)0 -

It's very expensive. But I'm just tired of it.
I've never been able to stick up for myself when it comes to this person. But I'm working up to it! wheee!0 -

He's the one being tacky! I'd go get it and never lend anything to him again. I know you're tired of having to drive to him for stuff all the time, but like another poster said, then you'd be on his time. Yay for sticking up for yourself!!!0 -

Amazon is even easier, they'll drop it at his door.0 -
I have shared custody of my dog, and my Oreck vaccuum cleaner. no. not tacky at all. whoever "borrows" it has to come pick it up. as for the dog, if i'm doing him a favor, he has to bring her/pick her up. but otherwise i'll go get her. hahaha.0

on his way home from dropping yours off to you. He's tacky, you are not.0 -
No kidding my ex actually stole my vacuum in that same way. They pretended to need to borrow it for their new place and then refused to return it unless I came to get it myself.
It was a bag-less whirlwind back in 04. The best vacuum I ever owned.
To be honest, out of everything from that failed relationship.... I miss my vacuum the most.0 -
This is off topic (ish) but I am astounded, and I mean really astounded, by the *kitten* some men get away from reading posts on this boards. Why do women put up with this nonsense? Ok, no one has to love anyone but at least you should expect that people treat you with a minimum degree of courtesy no matter who they are. If they can't they need to get the hell on...
As for the vacuum cleaner I would go collect it myself. Once I had possesion of it back I would never lend it out again.0 -
Path #1
1. Pick it up one more time.
2. Do not let him borrow it again.
-OR-
Path #2
1. Ask him to return the vacuum by ________
2a. If returned by _______, go to Step 3. (optionally decide if this is the last time)
2b. If not returned by ________, go immediately to Path #1
3. Proceed with vacuuming.0 -

You are totally 100% correct, and this is something I'm working on.
I deserve much more, most women do. Slowly and surely I'm requested I be treated with more respect. He has little respect for anybody, which is an issue.
he will be dropping it off (he moaned about it, then said it would be at 9am since he knows I'm a late sleeper lol)0 -

We sound alike. I still don't stick up for myself and it's been almost 4 years. Since we both need to "grow a pair" I'm going to say make him bring it back. BUT we both know that he knows you'll come pick it up because that's what "you always do"........UGH. Since it's a good vacuum I'd go get it but if it was a cheapy I'd start now on the being stronger thing. We can work on this together.......gonna send you a friend request.0 -
No matter how you handle this... IT SUCKS!  :laugh:0
