The app functions roughly as intended.*

You have to do the work.

*aside from the occasional glitches and self-inflicted withdrawal of features.

So what you're saying is you regained the weight you lost? Maybe you're someone who needs to stick with calorie counting in maintenance. No shame there -- lots of us are still calorie counting/logging years into maintenance, and from the number of "starting over" posts I see, it looks like there are a fair number of people who don't do well in maintenance if they don't have a definite system for keeping their calories at a maintenance level (it doesn't have to be logging, but if maintenance logging isn't for you, you probably need to find a system that is).

    Hello, and welcome!

Mostly it's that we have to do the actual work, and the app helps with the recordkeeping including the arithmetic. Unless we commit to the process, and stick with it fairly consistently, nothing changes. But we have the power to change, and this is one too that can help, for those that calorie counting suits.

I'd been overweight to obese for around 30 years, most of my adult life (overweight when younger, too). In 2015-16, MFP helped me lose from class 1 obese to a healthy weight, and to stay at a healthy weight since. That's why I'm saying it can work.

Best wishes for success: The results are worth the effort!
