Is anyone here familiar with "The Proof" with Simon Hill? I came across the web page, and it looks good, but I am not familiar with most of the speakers. Is it reliable information? Or does anyone have other recommendations for podcasts or blogs that have solid scientific info on health and diet (not fads), and make in interesting?

I’ve been listening to A Piece of Cake. It’s a British podcast. The host, Gregg Wallace, is the host of one of the British cooking shows, who used MFP and exercise to lose weight.

He alternates episodes with a guest, and then gets the take on that guest’s advice from a pair of “average Joes”, one of whom would like to lose weight, and the other who has lost a substantial amount, also via MFP and exercise.

His guests have been excellent. Specialists in their fields. Only one (Brazilian lymphatic drainage) came off as slightly woo so far, and that may be me. In fairness, I’d have to research further. She had to do years of study.

The Australian lady who spoke about gut health was particularly good. She has a doctorate in studying it, and I found her advice solid and am trying to incorporate some of it.

It’s accessible, informative, entertaining, and I love the MFP references. I also enjoy the follow up episodes to see what they got out of it, and if I overlooked something n

Another I’ve been listening to (I’m not British but seem to lean into British podcasts) is Fitness Unfiltered (not to be confused with Unfiltered Fitness, an American podcast.) there are three hosts, one of whom is a doctor who lost a substantial amount of weight with MFP and weight training. Sometimes the sound quality on this one is iffy, but I’m still in the earlier episodes. A lot of podcasts are squiffy early on.

I find that podcasts that mention MFP are very relatable to me.

If your vegan or vegetarian, Simon is a good example when compared to many of the ideologues in that genre or any genre for that matter. I don't agree with everything he says, but I don't agree with everything anyone says and that includes myself and why the need to always seek truth, which can be elusive but it's how the scientific method progresses. Any good scientist looks to disprove their hypothesis, it can't be any other way.
