Hey All.
So I have started to use my lunch breaks to take a walk in an attempt at being a bit more active. This now means that I have to eat lunch whilst walking along so things like salad, pasta, yogurt etc are out.
I'm in need of a bit of inspiration as to what foods are going to be practical and easy to eat with just hands whilst walking along as I'm getting bored of sandwiches. Lol.
Thanks 😋

I always make a quick sandwich or wrap for lunch. There are so many variations you could do..peanut butter, nutella, tofu, turkey, ham, reuban, patty melt, grilled cheese, lasagna sandwich..:D0

Maybe a sipping soup like tomato or butternut squash?1

Honestly I don't think it's a great idea to eat and walk for a lunch hour. Couldn't you just wake up earlier to do it? There's science literature showing that eating while distracted can actually lead to more weight gain. However walking AFTER eating has been shown to be beneficial.

As someone who used to walk outside a lot whilst eating (and still do while doing dvds), you have the portion control RIGHT THERE so...
OP, if you can eat at your desk, you can leave your arms free to swing for some extra movement. Otherwise, I don't know if they brought it back but, before the pandemic, I would hit up the Whole Foods hot bar for a little somethin' somethin' that would fit in a soup bowl container (not soup, obviously but like rice with some sauce and protein or vegetables. This is how I found out I liked brussels sprouts!) and frequently stopped off for a frozen yogurt. I didn't do salad but I wouldn't rule it out.
Just keep whatever it is not very moveable and in a container.

Lunchtime walk is a great idea.
If there's a way you can eat while working, you can focus on your walking and paying attention to what's around you. Ideally you'd eat and THEN go walk, but if that doesn't work and you can eat later, that's also a good option. There was a department director in my shop who used his lunch hour to go for a run most days. He also was president of the Masters Crew, so he had to stay in shape. He'd eat lunch after he got back from his run and had a quick shower. His lunch was ridiculously consistent; peanut butter sandwich.
I used to go for a walk or bike ride during my mid-day break and then eat something at my desk later. I also waited to eat breakfast until late in the morning. This let me take my lunch break later in the day so I had fewer hours to work after lunch. I worked ten hour days, so I liked the idea that my afternoon was shorter. Then I'd ride my bike home.1 -
Walking is always preferable, whether after or before lunch or even at night or morning. So, you can walk anytime you want to stay healthy and fit.1
