Sashimi will have less calories, but both are fine.

Check out "Sushi - Average Maki piece". I love having sushi for lunch - tasty, filling, and not too many calories.
  • because of the white rice sushi is neither low calorie nor low carb but its still pretty good for you. sashimi is very good for you.

    ^ NOT helpful.

Sushi is one of my favorite things on earth. I am actually having it tonight and cannot wait!

You will be better off to avoid rolls that have cream cheese, spicy mayo and are tempura battered/fried. Also, if you use soy sauce, use the low sodium. It has the green top. Sashimi is an EXCELLENT choice, paired with some edamame and a salad, imo.

    Enjoy! I know I will!

well what diet are you on?
for any diet I would stay away from deep fried and covered with sauce ones
for a unprocessed foods diet - stay away from the white rice- eat either sashimi or brown rice rolls
for a low carb diet - take the rice off the rolls or each sashimi...
for low fat -vegetable rolls and fake crab are the best, stay away from things with cream cheese, sauces, and advocado

Avocado is an excellent source of monounsaturated fats and will actually lower your unhealthy LDL while actually raising your healthy HDL. Highly suggest sticking with the avocado!

All of them are okay to eat. Fish has so many good things that you can, if you can afford it, eat it sushi & sashimi every day.... now, trying to stay within calories, you might want to steer clear of the sushi rolls that have mayonnaise or other sauces. Those sauces are high in sodium and calories. Sashimi is just sliced fish, nothing added... just if you did in soy, see if they have low sodium soy sauce (if you need to watch sodium intake).

You can find a lot of the nutrition information on different rolls here in the food database. Also, here is all you ever need to know:

not really on a full fledged diet.. im just keeping track of the calories and thats it.

I plan on ordering sushi tonight so i was wondering which would be good. Since im sick, i was just going to get the miso soup but i wanted something in my tummy.

I agree, I only listed it for the fat factor.. I personally don't do low fat... but even good fats are limited on a lowfat diet

I agree with previous posts... Sashimi is probably the best in terms of low carb/low fat, however, sushi with the rice is good too. Rolls are okay, if you avoid the cream cheese and anything with "spicy" in it, because that usually indicates a spicy mayo added to it. Edamame is super tasty and good for you. Go for it!
