Breastfeeding moms

Hello! I’m a breastfeeding mom to a healthy 3-month-old baby girl who's been steadily gaining weight since day one. I joined MyFitnessPal to track my food intake and portion sizes, as I want to lose weight without compromising our nutritional needs. It would be great if the app had a special feature for breastfeeding moms like me to provide more guidance. Currently, I stick to 1,800 calories a day. I don't feel deprived or experience headaches or other signs of a significant calorie deficit, which seems positive. However, I'm unsure if this approach will effectively support my weight loss goals. Any tips?

Hey! No tips yet but I’m breastfeeding as well. My baby is almost 3mo.. I’m trying to keep track of calories to make sure I’m eating enough healthy ones because my energy is low and I read that I may be undernourished. Looking forward to taking better care of myself!

I am also exclusively giving my baby breast milk and I am just now starting to try to get on the right track of losing weight. I found a group on FB that shared a link of where to calculate your calories and macros. So even though I am not following their meal plan or exercises, I was able to calculate my macros with one of their tools. I followed keto in the past, but I think for now until we decide to wean I will follow more of a less restrictive, lower carb diet. I also joined a gym yesterday, so I am hoping that with being more active that will help me stay consistent and lose weight.
